Gosh darnit. One of my game discs is freezing and not working. Seeing as it was working fine until one specific cut scene...there are a few scratches on it, but I didn't put them there, it came with them, and yes I know it's the risk of buying used games, but rrrrrrr.

First, it's the title of this article: Final Fantasy Marathon to Benefit Autism Treatment. That sounds good, but - it's wrong.

It's wrong because the players are raising money for Act Today, which looks and seems like a wonderful organization, but -

I quote from their website, and the bolding is mine: ACT Today! is the brainchild of several passionate people who believe access to early, effective treatment is vital for individuals with ASDs. Together with Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, a leading provider of therapy to autistic children with over 25 years of experience, this group created ACT Today! to do just as the name implies – take action immediately to treat autism.

Treat. Cure. Autism is not something that should be cured. This is a sensitive issue that I'm not fully able to explain, except - it's not something that should be cured.

Then I go and look at their links to other Foundations and Family Support and -

they have this among their links.

Cure Autism Now (CAN) is an organization of parents, clinicians and leading scientists committed to accelerating the pace of biomedical research in autism through raising money for research projects, education and outreach.

I shouldn't need to explain this one. But if I do, please go google it.

This bothers me because this is being announced on at least two video gaming websites I respect and enjoy, and they're going with the 'it's a good thing! We're raising money to help!' that this event has, even though it's not right.
