Today, the rapid progress of globalization and technology are leading to increased competition in many fields. Products, companies, countries and even cities have become unable to stay out from this competition. It is also known that the cities that have succeeded in this competition, which can promote themselves well enough and can make name, are also known to have positively contributed to their region and the country as well as their citizens both in terms of economic and social areas. In order for a city to be successful in a competitive environment, it must first recognize its values, resolve its deficiencies and must restore its weaknesses. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the branding process of the city by identifying the image of the city of Van in the mind of the survey participants’ who are the living in Van province so that this city can be marketed. With this purpose Van was examined as a city brand and alongside the tangible and intangible components of Van, the other image components that remind Van to the citizens were measured
Tourism is an important source of employment and value added for developed and developing countries alike. The development of tourism is particularly important in the elimination of regional economic, social and cultural imbalances in developing countries. However, development and advancement cannot be expected to continue with a linear acceleration. This may dependent on social, political, natural and environmental reasons. In this study, the relationship between tourism and the resilience theory which is used in tourism geography researches in recent years and which is expected to be developed by local communities against unexpected situations is thoroughly discussed. In this context, the Edremit province of Van, which has been exposed to few disturbance situations (earthquake, terrorism, economic instability) at the point of development of tourism, has been selected as a case area. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews based on the qualitative research strategy. As a result of this study, adaptations of local sector representatives in the development and change of tourism in Edremit province were critically evaluated. The study is considered to fill an important gap in the literature, especially in terms of revealing the relationship between the resilience theory and tourism through local actors. As a result of this study, it has been seen that local enterprises and sector representatives have positive views on the changing process and they all agree on diversification of tourism products and presenting them with an innovative perspective. However, it is seen that difficulties such as cooperation, acting together, participatory management have weaknesses in terms of being a resilient tourism community.
İşletmelerin stratejik hedeflerine etkin ve verimli olarak ulaşmasında işletme faaliyetlerini yürüten insan
kaynaklarının yetkinliği, işe ve örgüte bağlılığı ve sorumluluk bilinci büyük önem taşımaktadır. İnsan kaynaklarının
işletme faaliyetlerinde etkinliğinin artırılması, işe ve örgüte bağlılığın oluşturulması ve sorumluluk bilincinin varlığı
kurumsal performansın artırılmasında önemli bir etkendir.
Bu çalışmada yönetici ve işçilerin performanslarında çok önemli role sahip olana eğitim ve geliştirme programları
üzerinde durularak kurumsal performans açısından önemi irdelenecektir. Çalışanların işe ve örgüte bağlılığını
sağlayan faktörler ile sorumlulukları irdelenecektir.

ABSTRACT
The competence of human resources who conduct business activities, their commitment to business and
organization and their sense of responsibility have great significance in order to attain the strategic targets of
businesses effectively and efficiently. Rising the effectiveness of human resources in business activities, generating
the commitment to business and organization and the existence of sense of responsibility are all significant factors
in increasing corporate performance.
Within the study, training and developmental programs which have significant role in the performances of
managers and workers are going to be focused and their significance in terms of corporate performance is going to
be inquired. The factors which generate the commitment of workers to business and organization and their
responsibilities are going to be inquired.

ABSTRACT
It is very important for the corporations to be able to develop strategies oriented to the future and to direct their
employees towards these strategies and goals in accordance with the requirements of the intense competition
environment that the globalization created. The performance of a corporation is an indicator that displays the
achievement of its goals or the succession of its task at the end of a certain period and it also determines the level
of satisfaction of the shareholders’ expectation. Corporate Performance Management (CPM) can be defined as
the systematic process which is conducted individually and organizationally to improve the performance.
In this research, the points that are needed to be taken into consideration in the corporations’ high–performance
actionsareanalyzed by explicating the management concept that is displayed as CPM and the corporations’
characteristics areemphasized.
