Welcome!

Yu Wang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer and Data Sciences at the University of Oregon, where he directs the Knowledge Intelligence for Discovery and Decision-Making lab, which conducts research in data science, graph machine learning, Agentic AI, and large language models. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University. His overarching research vision is to infuse domain-structured knowledge into machine learning to build data-centric, trustworthy, and socially beneficial AI solutions. To achieve this goal, his research philosophy focuses on rigorizing System-1 neural processing with System-2 structural intelligence, through two synergistic directions: (1) Structured-Knowledge-Augmented Agentic AI and (2) Data Quality-aware Graph Machine Learning, with interdisciplinary applications in document intelligence, social personalization, infrastructure systems, and drug discovery.
