Dear Mr. Isaacs, really captured my heart in Peter Pan movie, as the most-gorgeous-Captain-Hook-EVER! And seeing him in the \"Making\" video he shot...RL Isaacs was a total sweetheart, I couldn't help but love him. And his sweet relationship with his co-star boy Jeremy was, um, inspiring to say the least. (^_^*
I even wanted to translate some fiction about them, and even got the author's permission and even drew the title art and all, but I wasn't sure where to put it up, and so never got around doing it.

I don't know if anyone still comes to look at my journal, but if you are still there...

Sorry I've disappeared abruptly, and gone for long. My RL got complicated and still remains so, though things are slowly but surely improving lately. Back when things started to go downward in RL, drawing HP fanart and translating HP fanfics were what kept me up and going. But it became harder and harder to keep up on both of them, along with the total freak-out of \"OMG HP is gonna be over soon! What do I do??\"
Then it seems that reading the final HP book, finally cut off my tension.

I enjoyed the book, I was reasonably happy with the ending, but after finishing it, suddenly this mixed feeling of loss and relief washed me...like \"My job here is over.\"

Since then, I haven't, practically drawn anything at all. Not just only HP, but I lost the urge to draw anything.

I guess I've always been that way...I always needed the subject I'm deeply interested in & the strong urge to express something with it, to motivate myself to pick up a pencil. And that kind of urge don't come to me very often. It's not unusual I'd have an entire year not drawing anything at all. Then my Holy Grail, Harry Potter came with the loud *BANG!*
I was cutting my sleeping hours drawing & creating site & reading fics & translating them...I was so energized and so, so happy. Such unbelievable drive HP has given me! I was flying high with joy, it was like Harry getting his first broom! I can honestly say, nothing else has ever had such strong effect on me.

Maybe I need time to rest now. Maybe once RL things are settled, I may again feel like drawing my dear Harry...and Snape and Sirius and Remus and Draco and, and...
I miss them and I miss you guys. I can't express enough gratitude to HP fandom, for all the support you've given me.
I've been putting off writing this entry because I didn't want to say this, but...for now, I must say a farewell.

Thank you so much and I love you all, those were the unforgettable, fantastic years I shared with you.

So there it was. The very last of Harry Potter book.
First of all, I'm happy and relieved to say that I liked it. Because my bigger fear of reading DH, rather than HP being over, was...what if I didn't like the book, and\/or how it ends???!!! After all those years, being a devoted (and rather crazy) fan of HP, it'd have killed me if the last book was disappointing.

And I was ready for the death of any character, including Harry himself in this book. Though I'd have liked to see our beloved wizard boy having a happy ending, there was no guarantee on that to happen. Also over anything, I'd rather have a satisfying book than a book full of lame reasoning, just so that Harry can survive in the end.

Well, I wasn't disappointed in the book. I liked it.
I felt quite content when I finished the book.

And wow, what a roller-coaster ride that was! Bit of calm moment, then *whooosh!!!* While it was difficult to put the book down in the middle, I HAD to take break here and there, to catch my breath.

And so many heart-wrenching moments. Dobby! Fred! So, so many others!
People were dropping like flies! This was the full-on war, and I braced myself for it, it still hurt. Especially Remus and Tonks...their death was one thing I wasn't happy about the book. I felt JKR killed (yes, killed) Remus just so that he can join the rest of the gang escorting Harry to Voldemort at the end. Remus and Tonks deserved a happy life as much as Harry did.

Snape. I knew he was the most likely one to die in this book.
In a way, I wanted him to die as a misunderstood bastard. And at the same time, I was relieved to see that Harry and the whole wizarding world know the courage and sacrifice he's given. Harry, giving his own son a middle name of \"Severus\"? That was just the sweetest.

Dumbledore...toward the end of the series, I developed such a dislike and distrust on him. He was cunning, manipulative, so secretive, so selfish, so full of himself. But to see his past like this, actually made me like or accept him a little more. He still is a manipulative bastard though.


See, I try to keep the canon and slash separate, but...while I was reading DH, I kept having feeling of strange deja-vu, especially whenever Snape gets involved. I read something like this...awfully similar...in Cybele's If You Are Prepared. Mind-blocking lesson in book 5 was eerie enough, but in this...Harry & Voldemort's soul-connection plot? That Voldemort lives because his soul's attached to Harry? And that basically both have to die to really end Voldemort's life?
And Snape being the spy for Dumbledore the whole time. That was a popular theory, but Cybele had it from very early on.
And all this time, Snape cared for Harry. At the beginning it was because he was Lily's son. But it was obvious Snape developed the special attachment and feeling for Harry (not slash-way, of course, but,).

The relationship between Snape and Harry in canon and IYAP can kinda over-wrap successfully, because in the canon it was Lily which Snape knew from the childhood and loved. In IYAP it was James, but playing almost exactly the same role. Just mother rather than father, but Harry's parents nonetheless. That's why, even though IYAP was slash and its plot can not possibly work in canon, it did.
I always loved IYAP, but I want to pay a renowned respect to Cybele for having such an amazingly accurate foreseeing of the story. She simply had such a deep and comprehensive understanding of the story and the characters.

Me and \"G\" from Lu-Mania<\/a> were discussing on how we'd love to read through & in-depth story about the relationship between Greyback & Remus. How did Greyback infect Remus? Did he try to make Remus a part of his pack? How did Remus get away from that? When Remus had to sneak into the group of werewolves as a spy, did Greyback know...or even recognize him as the one he infected long time ago? (Probably Greyback wasn't the part of this group Remus approached, though.) It wasn't clear to me from reading the book, but did Remus and Greyback meet during the battle at Hogwarts?

We feel there definitely can be a good story about them. Or there are such stories already but I missed them somehow, which is quite likely. (^_^;

Wheee! So I finally got to meet <\/a>mneomosyne<\/b><\/a><\/span>! On a nice sunny day in Shibuya, Tokyo. She was exactly what I imagined and MORE! Sweet, bright, happy, pretty, full of such positive energy...I had such a great time with her. We kept on hopping from one cafe to another, talking away for hours about various subject...like the next (and the last) Harry Potter book, Snape, art, drawing, importance of a well-drawn penis, Navokov's work, fanfictions, HP fandoms and how much we love it, etc...we could have talked endlessly...



And then evening came, it's time to hook up with <\/a>waccawheels<\/b><\/a><\/span> and <\/a>lala_kamiturugi<\/b><\/a><\/a>lillithium<\/b><\/a><\/span> for the first time, too. She was very nice and I was impressed how good her Japanese was!

After the con, Wacca_san and my friend Ruriko and Aria went to a tearoom and talked mostly about...those photos of Daniel on that stage play, Equus. *lol*

Then I had to say bye to them to meet 11web<\/a>'s Kurono. We went to a Japanese bar\/restaurant and got a tiny private room, and talked about HP. (Y'think I should be getting sick of it by this point...but naah. Never tire of talking about HP!) She has such an in-depth view of characters and the book, it was quite fascinating to talk to her.

Kurono is one of my favorite HP fanartist and I LOVE how she draws Snape. She said she became a real hardcore snupin shipper after reading my translation of Jintian's \"The Persons We Were.\" Now she's thinking of doing an erotic snupin comic doujinshi, and she asked me to do few pages for it too. Of course I said YES!

So...that was my fun-packed two days.
Though the end is near for us...(July 21st? Seems too soon...) through meeting those people and feeling their passion, I realized all over again how much I love HP. And this fandom.

There are gonna be 248 exhibitors all-together in various pairings and non-pairings, but all Harry Potter fanzines!! Isn't that grand??

As hectic my life has been lately, I almost gave up on making a new fanzine for the event myself, but...I just got to!!!

It's BAD when it won't even boot up in the safe mode. I knew I won't lose my work and data, because I've been good about doing the backups, but I was worried the PC may have to be sent out to be repaired, leaving me without my PC for weeks. But thanks to the sweet lady at Sony support center, it's working fine now. *phew*

But I still had to re-install whole bunch of programs and drivers and re-do the setting for them and such. *fun* :P And now I have to catch up on work and stuff.
