Prior to the conference, we are pleased to offer the following workshop, to be held in conjunction with the Statistical Society of Australia:
Multi-level Modelling, presented by Murthy Mittinty
Wednesday, 4 February 2015, University of Adelaide
This is a one day workshop designed for people who need to have an understanding of the statistical test required to analyse data that is nested or clustered and as such how to account for correlation due to clustering. This workshop will benefit both methodologists and practitioners. Participants are required to have strong understanding of regression modelling techniques (such as simple regression, or logistic regression).
This workshop will provide participants with methods to analyse nested data. That is, data that is nested in hierarchical structures (e.g. students nested in classrooms, classrooms nested in schools, and schools in suburbs). The focus of this workshop will be on clustered data and it will provide both the theoretical as well as hands on experience in analysing clustered data using statistical software.
The presenter, Murthy Mittinty, is with the Better Start Group in the School of Population Health as a Biostatistician. He is an Accredited Statistician, with 10 years of research experience as an applied statistician. Murthy has worked in the areas of child development, health, biosecurity, and Meteorology.
