Your Leisure's weekly Beach Huts offer a place to relax and watch the waves roll onto the shore, a place to gather with friends, a place to take in the majesty of those Turner seascapes for a romantic day in the sun... or a place to store all the toys, buckets, inflatables, swimwear, spades, balls and more the children want to take to the beach; save dragging it down every day, book a hut and have it all ready when you are.

Welcome to Your Leisure Beach Huts. Thanet's stunning coastline made up of 16 beautiful sandy beaches and bays stretching from Pegwell Bay in the south to Minnis Bay in the north, offer an incredible seaside experience from classic family fun to coastal exploring, water sports and wildlife-watching. To help you to make the most of the beautiful coast in Thanet, there is an excellent range of huts available which can be hired on a weekly, seasonal or annual basis (waiting lists apply for seasonal and annual). The chalets are very popular with both visitors and local residents and are a great British seaside staple, a place to meet with friends, enjoy a Turner seascape, relax and watch the waves roll in, Beach Huts are a quintessential part of our Isle's #beachlife.

FAQs
The Bay Access booking process is now online for you to self-serve. You can log into your account through the Live Better app or online booking system ( CLICK HERE ) to book a slot for placing your hut or contents.

Private Hut Customers will be able to book to take a vehicle down onto the bay to drop off / install their hut from 1-20th April 2025 (excluding 14th April 2025).
Private Hut Customers will be able to book to take a vehicle down onto the bay to drop off contents from 1-30th April 2025 (excluding 14th April 2025).
Seasonal YL Hut Customers will be able to book to take a vehicle down onto the bay from 15-30 April 2025 to drop off contents. Keys can be collected from 10am on 14 April 2025 from the Bay Inspector. (The system will allow you to book, however, you cannot collect your keys or access your hut until 10am on 14 April).

All hire periods are stated on your booking confirmation. The weekly hire period is from 10:00am on Saturday to midday on Friday. Keys must be returned to the bay office by midday.
Weekly hire customers can collect the key from the Bay Inspector Office after 10:00 Saturday and must be returned to the bay office by midday on Friday. If the office is closed, please ensure the hut is locked up and post the keys through the letter box.
Daily hire customers can collect their keys from the Bay Inspector Office from 10:00 on the day of the booking and return them no later than 17:00 on the day. If the office is closed, please ensure the hut is locked up and post the keys through the letter box.
All huts can be accessed from 6:00am and must be locked by one hour after sunset. Access is not permitted overnight.
General beach items can be stored within the hut such as water sports equipment, beach toys, chairs etc., however, customers are reminded that any loss or damage is the hirer's responsibility and therefore should refrain from storing valuable items. Any food should be stored in air-tight / fully sealed containers to reduce the attraction of pests.
Some huts are supplied with a gas trivet. The welcome pack contains an information leaflet on how to use the trivet. Customers must keep the surrounding area clear. If you have any problems or require a new gas bottle, please speak directly to a member of the bay team or call our Customer Support Team on 03333 660 661. We will arrange a replacement as soon as possible.
Daily huts will become available online to book if the hut is not sold as a weekly hire. Daily hire will become available 7 days before the date and cannot be booked in advance.

If you change the padlock on your beach hut, you need to ensure you give a copy of the key to the Bay Inspector. If we don't have a copy and need to enter your hut for checks or emergency work, we will cut the padlock off and replace it. The replacement can be picked up from the Bay inspector.
The Winter Hire season is the end of September to early April - dates vary year-to-year.
Payment for Winter Hire huts needs to be made between 1-30 September.
Keys can be collected at 10:00 from the Bay Inspector from the start of the season. If keys have not been collected by 13 October, please email [email protected] to arrange collection.
Keys must be returned by the end of the Winter season.
You will be provided with all the relevant dates with your hire confirmation.

Seaweed
Please note, storm events in the summer can create a heavy accumulation of seaweed on our bays and beaches. Thanet District Council is committed to removing this if it occurs as soon as practically possible but are unable to remove any that is deposited on the beach chalk reefs due to the protected status of these and the prevention of mechanical machinery from working on these areas by Natural England.
