The openly racist and fascist Blue-and-Black Movement says in its parliamentary election programme that pupils with an immigrant background should be separated from native Finnish pupils into their own classes, or in some cases into entirely separate schools.
In its programme, the party says it represents the interests of the "white working class".
It also advocates, among other measures, restricting citizenship, ending labour-based immigration, introducing a universal basic income, and setting a cap on pensions.
The Blue-and-Black Movement published its parliamentary election programme on Saturday, alongside its first 18 candidates for the upcoming parliamentary election.
The movement staged an election event on Saturday at Narinkkatori Square in central Helsinki. Police said they detained five people at the gathering.
Around 50 counter-demonstrators and 80 supporters of the Blue-and-Black Movement were present at the scene.
Police said they had not been notified of the demonstration in advance. Instead, it was reported only as it was getting underway.
The Blue-Black Movement returned to Finland's political party register last year. It was founded by a group of disgruntled former members of the Finns Party who held strong ethnonationalist views.
