Advance voting in Finland's first round of the presidential election begins on Wednesday and will continue until next Tuesday.
Finns who live abroad will have the opportunity to vote in advance from Wednesday until Saturday of this week.
Last week, Yle News published "A really simple guide to Finland's 2024 presidential election" , an article offering insights into the history that shaped how Finns elect their presidents. It also provides information about the election, including details about dates and deadlines.
Nine candidates are running for the important job and Yle News has published profiles about each of them. Election related stories — including the profiles — can be found here.
Yle also posted an election compass which aims to help people find the presidential candidates that most share their views.
The first round's election day is on Sunday, 28 January. If no single candidate gains 50 percent or more of the vote in the first round, the top two candidates will go to a second round run-off on 11 February.
