The sweeping strike, which affects Itella's cargo services, began yesterday. Employees are refusing to show up to work in the wake of co-determination negotiations that resulted in the loss of 55 jobs.
“The strike will cripple cargo transport. The stoppage will have no effect on traditional postal transport,” says Kinnunen.
According to Kinnunen, the wildcat strikers are members of the Transport Workers’ Union AKT.
