A drunk driver tried to run over a police officer near Hanko, in southern Finland. The officer escaped injury, but the motorist's actions are being investigated as attempted murder.
A car patrol of the Finnish Coast Guard began following an irratically driving car late Monday night. The vehicle did not pull over when ordered to, but tried to escape the police.
Another police car met the speeding motorist coming in the opposite direction. The officer had stepped out of the car and tried to get the motorist to stop. The driver aimed his car at the officer, who was standing at the side of the road. He managed to leap into a ditch at the last moment.
