Hurricane Katia brings storm to Finland

An autumn storm is arriving in Finnish waters. Hurricane Katia ravaged the British Isles over the weekend, and the same weather system is now bringing storms to Finland.

Winds in the Gulf of Finland and the Northern Baltic Sea are expected to strengthen to more than 21 metres per second. The storm swell could be more than five metres.

South-westerly winds along the south coast have strengthened to around 20 metres per second. Meteorologists are warning of the risk of felled trees as the winds pick up.
