Helsinki police say a man died from injuries after being run over by an excavator at the scene of a construction site in Helsinki's Pakila neighbourhood on Tuesday.
The man, born in 1993, died on the scene, according to police.
Police said the victim and the driver of the excavator were both experienced construction workers and that the incident is being investigated as a workplace accident.
Investigators will be able to determine whether there is reason to suspect workplace safety measures were not followed once the investigation moves forward, according to a police press release.
