The research is conducted for every children individually in a special education and rehabilitation centre. The problematic of this research is the level of perception ability of musical instruments with visual support on mild mentally retarded children. In this research, perception ability of defining pictograms by music is introduced as an alternative method. It is researched that how educable mentally retarded children perceive pictograms by music tools. In this case, it is aimed to introduce musical instruments to educable mentally retarded children by pictograms with music. The research is applied with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained with the recorder, then they were turned into texts and analyzed with content analysis method.

Somut olmayan kültürel miras kavramı kapsayıcı bir içeriğe erişmektedir. Müzik ise kültürel mirasın önemli bir parçası olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, somut olmayan kültürel mirasın temsili noktasında Türk müzik kültürü ve değerleri üzerinden konumlanan Atatürk Kültür Merkezi Müzik Platformu sergisi ele alınmıştır. Türk müziğinin tarihsel yolculuğunu yansıtan sergi gerek ekran uygulamaları gerekse QR kod üzerinden erişilebilir video-animasyon örnekleri ile birlikte sanatın ve kültürün dijital alanlar ile buluşturulması meselesi üzerinden incelenmiştir. Intangible cultural heritage can be used to describe a wide range of cultural assets, including all cultural assets other than the architectural works of societies. Therefore, the concept of intangible cultural heritage reaches an inclusive content. Music stands out as an important part of cultural heritage. In this research, Ataturk Cultural Center Music Platform exhibition that is centered on Turkish music culture and values with the perspective on representation of intangible cultural heritage is discussed. The exhibition, which reflects the historical journey of Turkish music, has been examined through the issue of bringing art and culture together with digital spaces, with both screen applications and video-animation examples accessible via QR code.

Genişletilmiş gerçeklik, bütünüyle sanal bir evren üzerinde SG gözlüğü aracılığıyla kavranabilen bir evreni betimleyebileceği gibi tablet ya da mobil telefonlar üzerinden gerçek ve sanalın birleşebildiği bir evrene de işaret edebilmektedir. Genişletilmiş gerçeklik teknolojisi pek çok alanda faydalanılan bir uygulama alanı olabilmektedir. Eğitim ve sağlık özelinde pandemi sonrası yeni deneyimlere duyulan ihtiyacın artmasıyla birlikte bu tür yeni teknolojileri yönelik deneyim ve yaklaşımlar da hız kazanmıştır. Bu makalede, diş hekimliği eğitiminde genişletilmiş gerçeklik teknolojisinin araştırmalarına ve uygulamalarına yönelik bir derleme makale çalışmasının yapılması hedeflenmiştir. Content analysis method is used and 1st, 18th and 24th seasons of "The Simpsons". In general, The Simpsons is an example of typical American family with five family members: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Springfield is the town where The Simpsons live in. Homer as the figure of father is characterized as liar, clumsy, incompetent, and lazy with lack of communication ability with his son, Bart. The communication problem of each other is noticeable. Homer is working in a nuclear power central and his boss is defined as the symbol of savage capitalism with his attitude and manner towards the labor. Bart is an American teenager willing to do crazy things and trying to be cool and popular in his school. He is not interested in lessons and an unsuccessful student. Despite the men in the family, women members are characterized as hard-working, ingenious and practical. As a mother Marge holds the family together and trying to solve the conflict and the problems of the family in a rational way. Marge is insightful, intelligent and self-confident. Lisa is also a smart girl having good habits such as music and she is keen on environmental issues. The Simpsons reflect sample of a post-modern family of twentieth century with common anxieties of today's modern living conditions.

Moreover, art generates new concepts, environments and tools with the contributions of science and technology. Caricature as an art discipline, as for all other fields of art, needs to be defined through new approaches such as Wavelet Transform and Neural Networks Methods, which are commonly being used in image processing, compression, classification in various medical and biomedical fields. In this study, it is planned to apply such digital and analytical methods on Turkish caricature data. Due to parallelism on drawing styles and characteristics of same periods’ or following periods’ caricature artists, physical classification and separation of caricatures may become harder. In addition, criticisms on caricatures commonly are to be interpretative without exact analytical indicators.

In this study, expanded graphite (EG) was decorated with manganese oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) by... more In this study, expanded graphite (EG) was decorated with manganese oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) by the hydrothermal method, and the newly formed composite (MONPs-EG) was applied as adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions. The comparative and competitive adsorption of Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ (0.01-1.00 mM) on MONPs-EG was investigated. Data from isothermal adsorption of single and binary systems suggested that both Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ were well described by the Langmuir isotherm, and the maximum adsorption capacities at 298 K were calculated at 0.278 and 0.113 mmol/g for Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ , respectively. In binary systems, a dramatic decrease in adsorption capacity of Ni 2+ was observed, while the adsorption capacity of Pb 2+ was almost stable, indicating the favorable adsorption of Pb 2+ over Ni 2+ onto the prepared adsorbent. Kinetics studies of single and binary systems showed that a pseudo-second order model could explain the adsorption processes well. Thermodynamic analysis results demonstrated that the adsorption of these metal ions on the prepared adsorbent is spontaneous and exothermic in nature. The adsorption capacity of MONPs-EG increased significantly in the presence of humic acids. Overall, the results of this study suggest that MONPs-EG can be used effectively as an adsorbent for heavy metals removal from aqueous solutions.

Technology provides interdisciplinary approaches in terms of art and education. Art, education and technology become more efficient in terms of functionality when supported by music. Using computer-aided animation in teaching both academic skills and concepts in special education is important for supporting education with visual aids. When auditory and visual elements are used together, learning becomes more permanent and effective. Computer-aided applications can be an alternative education model since they are renewable, updatable, and storable. This study is the first digital-based education model designed for the development of auditory and visual perception of dedicatedly educable mentally retarded children.
Öz 1960'lı yıllar, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin sanat ortamında etki gücünün arttığı, kimi kur... more Öz 1960'lı yıllar, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin sanat ortamında etki gücünün arttığı, kimi kuramcılara göre sanatın yeni merkezinin New York olarak şekillenmeye başladığı bir döneme işaret etmektedir. Sanayileşmenin ileri süreçlerinin yaşandığı 1960'lar, popüler kültür ve araçlarının kuşatmasında bir toplum modelinin ilk izlerini sunmaktadır. Post-endüstrileşme olarak da isimlendirebileceğimiz 60'lı yıllar, ayrıca II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası bir dönemde konumlandığından, II. Dünya Savaşı'nın yarattığı tahribat dikkate alındığında savaş ve düzen karşıtı eylem ve hareketlerinin sıklıkla görüldüğü bir sosyolojik ortam sunmaktadır. Hippi Hareketi olarak adlandırılan cinsel devrim hareketi, siyasal bir hareket olarak kendini tanımlamamakla birlikte savaş karşıtlığı, toplumsal ahlak karşıtlığı gibi kavramları benimsemekte ve uygulamaktadır. Crumb, Hippi Hareketinin filizlendiği dönemlerde yaşayan bir çizer olarak, "Kedi Fritz" tiplemesini yaratmış ve yeraltı edebiyatında Kedi Fritz çizgi dizisi, hem Crumb'ın çizgi üslubunu hem de dönemi ele alış biçimini yansıtmış ve ilgi çekmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Hippi Hareketi bir çizerin bakışıyla aktarılmaya çalışılmış, kavramsal çerçevede modernizm ve post-modernizm kavramları, Avangard Kuramı ve Hippi Hareketi ilişkisi, Eleştirel Teori Kuramı ve ilgili kuramcıların değerlendirmeleri üzerinden hareket, günümüz mesele ve oluşumları ile birlikte incelenmiştir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak literatür taraması ve betimsel tarama yöntemleri benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı, 1960'lar Hippi Hareketi ve oluşumlarını irdelemekle birlikte, günümüzde ahlak ve cinselliğin nasıl konumlandırdığına dair tespit ve yorumlarda bulunulması, toplumsal olayların sanatçı bakışıyla kazandığı anlamların ya da yorumlayışların Kedi Fritz tiplemesi üzerinden araştırılması olmaktadır.

Eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli çocuklarda işitsel ve görsel unsurlar kullanılarak müzik aletlerini algılayabilme düzeyi, araştırmanın sorunsalını oluşturmaktadır. Niteliksel bir yaklaşım ile yapılan araştırmada, kayıt cihazı ile kaydedilen veriler önce yazılı metin haline getirilmiş, daha sonra içerik analizi yönteminden faydalanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.

TÜRK ÇİZGİ FİLMLERİNDE KÜLTÜREL KODLAMALAR CULTURAL CODES OF TURKISH ANIMATION FILMS Bahadır UÇAN... more TÜRK ÇİZGİ FİLMLERİNDE KÜLTÜREL KODLAMALAR CULTURAL CODES OF TURKISH ANIMATION FILMS Bahadır UÇAN * Öz Çizgi filmlere dair ilk denemelerin, ilk sinema deneyimleriyle eş-zamanlı gerçekleştiği kabul edilmektedir. Görüntüde "anı" yakalamayı sağlayan fotoğrafın keşfi sonrası zaman-mekân içerisinde bir hareketliliği yansıtmak fikri daha ilgi çekici hale gelmiştir. Bunun üzerine temelde görsel bir yanılsamaya neden olan birtakım araç ve gereçler geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmaların ilk denemelerine Edison gibi bilim adamlarının imza atmış olması ise, çizgi filmlerin disiplinler arası bir yapı içerisinde, tekniğin olanakları çerçevesinde gelişebileceğinin somut bir örneğidir. Çizgi filmin ve etki gücünün ise, 20.yüzyılda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde başlayan pop sanat hareketleri sonrası arttığını söylemek mümkündür. Pop sanat hareketleri ile birlikte medya ve sanat keskin çizgilerle ayrıştırılamaz olmuştur. Çizgi filmler de, medya-sanat yakınlaşmasının güçlü örnekleri olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Öyle ki, Mickey Mouse çizgi karakterinin dünya üzerindeki tanınırlığı, çizgi filmlerin medya araçları üzerinden toplumlara ve geniş kitlelere ulaştığını tek başına kanıtlar niteliktedir. Çizgi filmlerin yararlandığı kaynaklar ise temelde "kültür" eksenli olmaktadır. İlk örneklerinden günümüze genel bir perspektifte değerlendirildiğinde çizgi filmlerin kültürel unsurlar içerdiği, yaratım süreçlerinde sözlü ve yazılı kaynaklardan, destanlardan, masallardan, vb. kültüre dair hemen tüm olgulardan faydalanabildiği söylenebilir. Örneğin, Stüdyo Ghibli'nin ürünü olan bir çizgi filmde sözgelimi Muromaki dönemi Japon toplumu anlatılırken, Pixar yapımı bir başka çizgi filmde Amerikan aile yapısının izlerini kolaylıkla fark etmek mümkündür. Dolayısıyla çizgi filmler, yalnızca çizgisel üslup ya da teknik farklılıklar ile değil, toplumsal bakış üzerinden de birbirlerinden ayrışmaktadırlar. Çizgi filmlerdeki bu tür farklılıklar ya da benzeşmeler kurallaşmış yapıları, kurallar da kodlamayı oluşturur. Örneğin silindir şapkalı bir karakter tasviri, izleyicide politikacı çağrışımı yapmakta ya da "kötü kalpli" karakterler çatık kaşıklı, kirli sakallı, vb. resmedilmektedir. Ortaçağ dönemini ele alan bir çizgi filmde de, çizgi karakterler ve çizgiye dair tüm unsurlar izleyicinin görsel algısında yer edinebilmesi için, tarihsel koşullara uygun betimlenir. Böylelikle izleyici, henüz karakterle ilgili öyküsel bir içerikle karşılaşmadan bir tanımlama geliştirir. Çizgi filmlerde bu tür genel kurallar ve kodlamalar kullanılabildiği gibi, çizgi filmin kendisine has birtakım kodlamalar içermesi de mümkündür. Kültürel kodlamalar ise, kültür kavramı ekseninde şekillendirilen kurallar sisteminin bütünüdür. Bu çalışmada, Türk çizgi filminin kültürel kodlamalar üzerinden incelemeye tabi tutulması hedeflenmektedir.

By this research, the world's first Turkish mythology museum in a virtual environment is established. For this purpose, a literature review is conducted on gathering related information on Turkish mythology and elements of Turkish mythology are transferred into visual design units. Models and designs are created on Blender 2.80 and Autodesk 3dsmax 2019. Unity Hub is used for extended reality interaction. Within the scope of the research, augmented reality future is added to character designs created by using mythological characters. With augmented reality, models gained a feature that enables interactive participation of audience over phone/tablet.

Bu çalışmada, somut olmayan kültürel mirasın temsili noktasında Türk müzik kültürü ve değerleri üzerinden konumlanan Atatürk Kültür Merkezi Müzik Platformu sergisi ele alınmıştır. Türk müziğinin tarihsel yolculuğunu yansıtan sergi gerek ekran uygulamaları gerekse QR kod üzerinden erişilebilir video-animasyon örnekleri ile birlikte sanatın ve kültürün dijital alanlar ile buluşturulması meselesi üzerinden incelenmiştir. Intangible cultural heritage can be used to describe a wide range of cultural assets, including all cultural assets other than the architectural works of societies. Therefore, the concept of intangible cultural heritage reaches an inclusive content. Music stands out as an important part of cultural heritage. In this research, Ataturk Cultural Center Music Platform exhibition that is centered on Turkish music culture and values with the perspective on representation of intangible cultural heritage is discussed. The exhibition, which reflects the historical journey of Turkish music, has been examined through the issue of bringing art and culture together with digital spaces, with both screen applications and video-animation examples accessible via QR code.

Genişletilmiş gerçeklik, bütünüyle sanal bir evren üzerinde SG gözlüğü aracılığıyla kavranabilen bir evreni betimleyebileceği gibi tablet ya da mobil telefonlar üzerinden gerçek ve sanalın birleşebildiği bir evrene de işaret edebilmektedir. Genişletilmiş gerçeklik teknolojisi pek çok alanda faydalanılan bir uygulama alanı olabilmektedir. Eğitim ve sağlık özelinde pandemi sonrası yeni deneyimlere duyulan ihtiyacın artmasıyla birlikte bu tür yeni teknolojileri yönelik deneyim ve yaklaşımlar da hız kazanmıştır. Bu makalede, diş hekimliği eğitiminde genişletilmiş gerçeklik teknolojisinin araştırmalarına ve uygulamalarına yönelik bir derleme makale çalışmasının yapılması hedeflenmiştir. Content analysis method is used and 1st, 18th and 24th seasons of "The Simpsons". In general, The Simpsons is an example of typical American family with five family members: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Springfield is the town where The Simpsons live in. Homer as the figure of father is characterized as liar, clumsy, incompetent, and lazy with lack of communication ability with his son, Bart. The communication problem of each other is noticeable. Homer is working in a nuclear power central and his boss is defined as the symbol of savage capitalism with his attitude and manner towards the labor. Bart is an American teenager willing to do crazy things and trying to be cool and popular in his school. He is not interested in lessons and an unsuccessful student. Despite the men in the family, women members are characterized as hard-working, ingenious and practical. As a mother Marge holds the family together and trying to solve the conflict and the problems of the family in a rational way. Marge is insightful, intelligent and self-confident. Lisa is also a smart girl having good habits such as music and she is keen on environmental issues. The Simpsons reflect sample of a post-modern family of twentieth century with common anxieties of today's modern living conditions.

In this study, it is planned to apply such digital and analytical methods on Turkish caricature data. Due to parallelism on drawing styles and characteristics of same periods’ or following periods’ caricature artists, physical classification and separation of caricatures may become harder. In this study, expanded graphite (EG) was decorated with manganese oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) by... more In this study, expanded graphite (EG) was decorated with manganese oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) by the hydrothermal method, and the newly formed composite (MONPs-EG) was applied as adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions. The comparative and competitive adsorption of Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ (0.01-1.00 mM) on MONPs-EG was investigated. Data from isothermal adsorption of single and binary systems suggested that both Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ were well described by the Langmuir isotherm, and the maximum adsorption capacities at 298 K were calculated at 0.278 and 0.113 mmol/g for Pb 2+ and Ni 2+ , respectively. In binary systems, a dramatic decrease in adsorption capacity of Ni 2+ was observed, while the adsorption capacity of Pb 2+ was almost stable, indicating the favorable adsorption of Pb 2+ over Ni 2+ onto the prepared adsorbent. Kinetics studies of single and binary systems showed that a pseudo-second order model could explain the adsorption processes well. Thermodynamic analysis results demonstrated that the adsorption of these metal ions on the prepared adsorbent is spontaneous and exothermic in nature. The adsorption capacity of MONPs-EG increased significantly in the presence of humic acids. Overall, the results of this study suggest that MONPs-EG can be used effectively as an adsorbent for heavy metals removal from aqueous solutions.

Technology provides interdisciplinary approaches in terms of art and education. Art, education and technology become more efficient in terms of functionality when supported by music. Using computer-aided animation in teaching both academic skills and concepts in special education is important for supporting education with visual aids. When auditory and visual elements are used together, learning becomes more permanent and effective. Computer-aided applications can be an alternative education model since they are renewable, updatable, and storable. This study is the first digital-based education model designed for the development of auditory and visual perception of dedicatedly educable mentally retarded children.
Öz 1960'lı yıllar, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin sanat ortamında etki gücünün arttığı, kimi kur... more Öz 1960'lı yıllar, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin sanat ortamında etki gücünün arttığı, kimi kuramcılara göre sanatın yeni merkezinin New York olarak şekillenmeye başladığı bir döneme işaret etmektedir. Sanayileşmenin ileri süreçlerinin yaşandığı 1960'lar, popüler kültür ve araçlarının kuşatmasında bir toplum modelinin ilk izlerini sunmaktadır. Post-endüstrileşme olarak da isimlendirebileceğimiz 60'lı yıllar, ayrıca II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası bir dönemde konumlandığından, II. Dünya Savaşı'nın yarattığı tahribat dikkate alındığında savaş ve düzen karşıtı eylem ve hareketlerinin sıklıkla görüldüğü bir sosyolojik ortam sunmaktadır. Hippi Hareketi olarak adlandırılan cinsel devrim hareketi, siyasal bir hareket olarak kendini tanımlamamakla birlikte savaş karşıtlığı, toplumsal ahlak karşıtlığı gibi kavramları benimsemekte ve uygulamaktadır. Crumb, Hippi Hareketinin filizlendiği dönemlerde yaşayan bir çizer olarak, "Kedi Fritz" tiplemesini yaratmış ve yeraltı edebiyatında Kedi Fritz çizgi dizisi, hem Crumb'ın çizgi üslubunu hem de dönemi ele alış biçimini yansıtmış ve ilgi çekmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Hippi Hareketi bir çizerin bakışıyla aktarılmaya çalışılmış, kavramsal çerçevede modernizm ve post-modernizm kavramları, Avangard Kuramı ve Hippi Hareketi ilişkisi, Eleştirel Teori Kuramı ve ilgili kuramcıların değerlendirmeleri üzerinden hareket, günümüz mesele ve oluşumları ile birlikte incelenmiştir. Araştırma yöntemi olarak literatür taraması ve betimsel tarama yöntemleri benimsenmiştir. Eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli çocuklarda işitsel ve görsel unsurlar kullanılarak müzik aletlerini algılayabilme düzeyi, araştırmanın sorunsalını oluşturmaktadır. Niteliksel bir yaklaşım ile yapılan araştırmada, kayıt cihazı ile kaydedilen veriler önce yazılı metin haline getirilmiş, daha sonra içerik analizi yönteminden faydalanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.

TÜRK ÇİZGİ FİLMLERİNDE KÜLTÜREL KODLAMALAR CULTURAL CODES OF TURKISH ANIMATION FILMS Bahadır UÇAN... more TÜRK ÇİZGİ FİLMLERİNDE KÜLTÜREL KODLAMALAR CULTURAL CODES OF TURKISH ANIMATION FILMS Bahadır UÇAN * Öz Çizgi filmlere dair ilk denemelerin, ilk sinema deneyimleriyle eş-zamanlı gerçekleştiği kabul edilmektedir. Görüntüde "anı" yakalamayı sağlayan fotoğrafın keşfi sonrası zaman-mekân içerisinde bir hareketliliği yansıtmak fikri daha ilgi çekici hale gelmiştir. Bunun üzerine temelde görsel bir yanılsamaya neden olan birtakım araç ve gereçler geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmaların ilk denemelerine Edison gibi bilim adamlarının imza atmış olması ise, çizgi filmlerin disiplinler arası bir yapı içerisinde, tekniğin olanakları çerçevesinde gelişebileceğinin somut bir örneğidir. Çizgi filmin ve etki gücünün ise, 20.yüzyılda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde başlayan pop sanat hareketleri sonrası arttığını söylemek mümkündür. Pop sanat hareketleri ile birlikte medya ve sanat keskin çizgilerle ayrıştırılamaz olmuştur. Çizgi filmler de, medya-sanat yakınlaşmasının güçlü örnekleri olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Öyle ki, Mickey Mouse çizgi karakterinin dünya üzerindeki tanınırlığı, çizgi filmlerin medya araçları üzerinden toplumlara ve geniş kitlelere ulaştığını tek başına kanıtlar niteliktedir. Çizgi filmlerin yararlandığı kaynaklar ise temelde "kültür" eksenli olmaktadır. İlk örneklerinden günümüze genel bir perspektifte değerlendirildiğinde çizgi filmlerin kültürel unsurlar içerdiği, yaratım süreçlerinde sözlü ve yazılı kaynaklardan, destanlardan, masallardan, vb. kültüre dair hemen tüm olgulardan faydalanabildiği söylenebilir. Örneğin, Stüdyo Ghibli'nin ürünü olan bir çizgi filmde sözgelimi Muromaki dönemi Japon toplumu anlatılırken, Pixar yapımı bir başka çizgi filmde Amerikan aile yapısının izlerini kolaylıkla fark etmek mümkündür. Dolayısıyla çizgi filmler, yalnızca çizgisel üslup ya da teknik farklılıklar ile değil, toplumsal bakış üzerinden de birbirlerinden ayrışmaktadırlar. Çizgi filmlerdeki bu tür farklılıklar ya da benzeşmeler kurallaşmış yapıları, kurallar da kodlamayı oluşturur. Örneğin silindir şapkalı bir karakter tasviri, izleyicide politikacı çağrışımı yapmakta ya da "kötü kalpli" karakterler çatık kaşıklı, kirli sakallı, vb. resmedilmektedir. Ortaçağ dönemini ele alan bir çizgi filmde de, çizgi karakterler ve çizgiye dair tüm unsurlar izleyicinin görsel algısında yer edinebilmesi için, tarihsel koşullara uygun betimlenir. Böylelikle izleyici, henüz karakterle ilgili öyküsel bir içerikle karşılaşmadan bir tanımlama geliştirir. Çizgi filmlerde bu tür genel kurallar ve kodlamalar kullanılabildiği gibi, çizgi filmin kendisine has birtakım kodlamalar içermesi de mümkündür. Kültürel kodlamalar ise, kültür kavramı ekseninde şekillendirilen kurallar sisteminin bütünüdür. Bu çalışmada, Türk çizgi filminin kültürel kodlamalar üzerinden incelemeye tabi tutulması hedeflenmektedir.

For this purpose, a literature review is conducted on gathering related information on Turkish mythology and elements of Turkish mythology are transferred into visual design units. Models and designs are created on Blender 2.80 and Autodesk 3dsmax 2019. Unity Hub is used for extended reality interaction. Within the scope of the research, augmented reality future is added to character designs created by using mythological characters. With augmented reality, models gained a feature that enables interactive participation of audience over phone/tablet.
