Bu araştırma, erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetme ve intikam düzeyini... more Bu araştırma, erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetme ve intikam düzeyini yordama gücünü ortaya koymak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. 283’ü kadın, 115’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 398 katılımcıyla gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma, ilişkisel tarama modeline dayalı olarak tasarlanmıştır. Veriler; “Young Şema Ölçeği Kısa Form-3 (YŞÖ-KF3)”, “Kişilerarası İlişkilerde Affetme Ölçeği” ve “İntikam Ölçeği” aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde erken dönem uyumsuz şemalar, kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetme ve intikam düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi saptamak için Pearson korelasyon analizi; erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetme ve intikam düzeyini anlamlı yordayıcısı olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizi neticesinde; sosyal izolasyon/güvensizlik, yüksek standartlar ve dayanıksızlık şema alt boyutlarının intikamı pozitif yönlü; kendini feda alt boyutunun ise intikamı negatif yönlü anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı görülmüştür. Erken dönem uyumsuz şema alt boyutlarının intikamın toplam varyansının %21.1’ini açıkladığı bulunmuştur. Karamsarlık, ayrıcalıklılık/yetersiz öz denetim ve duygusal yoksunluk şema alt boyutlarının kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetmeyi negatif yönlü; kendini feda, cezalandırma ve terk edilme alt boyutlarının ise kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetmeyi pozitif yönlü anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı görülmüştür. Erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetmenin toplam varyansının %13.1’ini açıkladığı belirlenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, kişiler arası ilişkilerde affetme ve intikamı açıklamada erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların anlamlı bir değişken olduğu görülmüştür.

Analizler sonucunda; çocukların sosyal yetkinliklerinin ve davranışlarının annelerin çalışma durumuna, gelir düzeyine, annelerin kendi ebeveynlerinin ebeveynlik tutumuna, çocuk sayısına ve eğitim düzeyine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Araştırmanın bir diğer sonucu olarak, ebeveynlikteki bilinçli farkındalığın çocukların sosyal yetkinliği ve annelerin anskiyete/içe dönüklük puanlarını anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, alan yazın doğrultusunda incelenmiş, tartışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

The uncertainty brought on by COVID-19 had a negative psychological impact on them, but this effect became more complex in the process of restarting education after a long break. The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological situation of Turkish university students during the period when face-to-face education began to reappear as a result of the COVID-19 precautions being reduced. For this aim, the psychological situation of 224 Turkish students aged 17-25 was assessed using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), State and Trait Anxiety Scale (STAT), Connor Davidson-Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), and Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI). In addition, the students were asked about their life satisfaction, chronic illness, duration of physical activity, screen time, and needs of psychological support. The results revealed that during this period, students reported low levels of exercise and physical activity time, increased time spent in front of a screen, low life satisfaction, higher rates of receiving and needing psychological support, and higher levels of negative affect, depression, anxiety, and brief symptoms. Furthermore, the results showed that positive affect and resilience are protective factors for psychological health. The findings of the study highlighted the critical role of psychological support services at universities in promoting and preserving students' mental health.

The data of this study, which was carried out with the qualitative research method, were collected through semi-structured interview questions from 6 psychological counsellors working in middle school in Istanbul. From the interviews with the participants: “Students' Access to School Counselor”, “The Issues Students Have Needed Support”, “Addressing Students’ Expectations”, “Competence Perception of School Psychological Counsellors”, “Cooperation with Others”, “Main Challenges in
School Counselling Process” and “Alternative Support Routes” main themes were obtained. While the data of this research was collected by the researcher within the scope of her master’s thesis in 2013, the findings were discussed together with the results of current studies investigating the professional experiences of school counsellors in Turkey. In line with the findings, suggestions were made to contribute to the improvement of school psychological counseling services.
In this phenomenological study, it was attempted to carry out an in-depth investiga- tion of the ... more In this phenomenological study, it was attempted to carry out an in-depth investiga- tion of the anxiety experiences of domestic workers, who were working as housekeep- ers but could not continue their work life during the COVID-19 outbreak. Through this, it was aimed to reveal their experiences regarding the anxiety they experienced dur- ing the pandemic process. In this study, in which the criterion sampling method was used, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 domestic worker women between the ages of 30–42. The 4-step data analysis process in Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenology pattern was used in the analyses. The descriptive phenomenologi- cal analysis revealed five main themes that describe the participants’ experiences: i) anxiety symptoms, ii) financial difficulties, iii) interfamilial relationships, iv) uncer- tainty and v) emotions that accompany anxiety. The main themes obtained by this research were similar to the sources of anxiety, its components and the emotions accompanying anxiety mentioned in the literature. During the quarantine days, it was seen that the most intense emotion experienced by domestic workers was anxiety. Although the lockdown and unemployment experiences of each participant is unique, it was determined that the most important determinants of this were economic prob- lems due to the lack of job security.
The main purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between attachment need ... more The main purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between attachment need in close/romantic relationships and fear of loneliness. The study is designed according to mixed research approach. Quantitative and qualitative research instruments were used respectively. Firstly Experience in Close relationships Inventory (ECR) and Adult Separation Anxiety Survey (ASA) were applied to 200 adult individuals aged between 25-35. In the second phase, 30 interviews were conducted with voluntary participants. Data gathered through quantitative and qualitative instruments were interpreted and evaluated together. Independent Samples T-test and Pearson Correlation analyses were conducted for examining quantitative data. Significant difference was found in ASA questionnaire and avoidance dimension of ECR Inventory scores between the groups formed according to gender, relationship status and relationship history. And also, significant differences were detected in both dimensions of ECR and ASA scores between participants who experienced fear of losing someone during a relationship and who did not. Pearson correlation analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between ASA questionnaire and anxiety dimension ECR Inventory. There is also positive and significant relationship between anxiety and avoidance dimensions of ECR. In qualitative phase, phenomenological research design was used. The analysis shows that participants have the fear of losing their partners and family members. Besides, they associated their fear of loneliness with leaving home and being abandoned by parents. Meanings attributed to presence of a partner consist of four themes: safety, sharing life, joy and love. Another finding indicates that absence of a partner leads to feeling incomplete, not being worthy of love and loneliness. Some participants described absence of a partner as a positive process. Possible feelings attributed to hypothetical ending of current relationship are expressed in seven themes: incompleteness, fear, unhappiness, relief, hopefulness for future, disappointment and loss of trust. Loneliness and attachment processes in relationships are not only related to each other, but also they may have significant roles in close relationships. It is suggested to consider dynamics of these concepts and help individuals develop through therapeutic interventions in order to strengthen close relationships, which can deeply affect individuals' existence in personal and social mental heath.

The pet ownership has a crucial role in individuals' lives, which offers many beneficial effects.... more The pet ownership has a crucial role in individuals' lives, which offers many beneficial effects. By examining the relationship between pet ownership and owners' well-being, researchers have found that pets typically made their owners feel well. This study examines the ways in which pet owners' depression and subjective well-being levels predict their personality traits. It also aims to examine the relationship between these variables and of the participants' pet preferences. Totally, 307 pet owners participated in this study; all participants were university students living in Turkey. In addition, all participants were aged 18 and older. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was used to determine the depression levels of the participants; the Subjective Well-Being Scale (SWBS) was used to determine their subjective well-being levels, and an Abbreviated Form Of The Revised Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQR-A) was used to determine personality traits. Data was analyzed using path analysis. The study found that pet owners' depression and subjective wellbeing scores predicted their neuroticism and extraversion scores. Subjective well-being and depression predict neuroticism and extroversion in personality traits, and goodness of fit index of this model has been found to be at acceptable levels. It is important to conduct more experimental and correlational studies involving the same variables; these studies may focus on pet owners, as well as their difference with those who do not own pets. They may also focus on specific age groups, such as children, adults, and the elderly.

This study includes three parts. In this context, first one is related to the critical literature review for a personal model of counselling, second part is about critical commentaries on Interpersonal Process Recall exercise and the last part is an integration of first and second parts'. That part includes implications for IPR practice and conclusion. Further, following review of the literature firstly presents general definitions about approaches and basically, the effects of approaches used in counselling sessions. Literature review part does not include all information about the approaches that was used in supervisee's counselling sessions. The present research is a study about supervisee's towards finding a therapeutic model that best suits her and also includes some parts from her own life history. In the final part, a conclusion takes place in which the results of the study were discussed and some constructive suggestions were made in the light of literature and IPR process. Also, the issues that are seen crucial related to supervisee's experience and literature review was discussed using critical subjectivity.

Initiating and maintaining a romantic relationship is at the center of developing individuals' li... more Initiating and maintaining a romantic relationship is at the center of developing individuals' life in the process of transition to adulthood. Therefore, an important dimension of university students' experiences includes romantic relationships and romantic interests. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the mediating role of the meaning of marriage and attitudes about romance and mate selection in the relationship between irrational romantic relationship beliefs and relationship satisfaction. Analysis were done within the framework of Structural Equation Model. The data were collected by "Personal Information Form", "Relationship Beliefs Questionnaire", "Relationship Satisfaction Scale", "Attitudes about Romance and Mate Selection Scale" and "The Scale of the Meaning of Marriage" from 466 university students. Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Path Analysis and Bootstrapping Test were used to test the aims of the study. In the established structural equation model, it is seen that the meaning of marriage and attitudes about romance and mate selection has a partial mediator role in the relationship between irrational romantic relationship beliefs and relationship satisfaction. According to the results of road analysis, the direct effect of irrational romantic relationship beliefs on relationship satisfaction is high, individuals with irrational romantic relationship beliefs had limited restrictive beliefs in the mate selection and the meaning they attributed to marriage. Besides, individuals with high irrational beliefs in romantic relationships and restrictive beliefs in the mate selection and the meaning they attributed to marriage, has lower relationship satisfaction. Consequently, the fit indices of the model tested are acceptable. It is thought that identifying the romantic relationship beliefs of university students will help to understand the feelings, thoughts and behaviors of young people who have difficulties in romantic relationships.

Araştırmanın temel amacı; istismar edici çocuk yetiştirme tutumlarının belirlenmesine yönelik bir ölçüm aracının Türkçeye uyarlanması ve istismar edici olan ve olmayan çocuk yetiştirme tutum ve davranışlarının belirlenmesine yönelik annelerle bireysel görüşmeler yapılmasıdır. Araştırma, iki aşamadan oluşan karma yapıda bir çalışmadır. Birinci aşama olan nicel aşamada, ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bir diğer sonucu olarak, ebeveynlikteki bilinçli farkındalığın çocukların sosyal yetkinliği ve annelerin anskiyete/içe dönüklük puanlarını anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı saptanmıştır. In addition, the students were asked about their life satisfaction, chronic illness, duration of physical activity, screen time, and needs of psychological support. The results revealed that during this period, students reported low levels of exercise and physical activity time, increased time spent in front of a screen, low life satisfaction, higher rates of receiving and needing psychological support, and higher levels of negative affect, depression, anxiety, and brief symptoms. Furthermore, the results showed that positive affect and resilience are protective factors for psychological health. The findings of the study highlighted the critical role of psychological support services at universities in promoting and preserving students' mental health.

The data of this study, which was carried out with the qualitative research method, were collected through semi-structured interview questions from 6 psychological counsellors working in middle school in Istanbul. From the interviews with the participants: “Students' Access to School Counselor”, “The Issues Students Have Needed Support”, “Addressing Students’ Expectations”, “Competence Perception of School Psychological Counsellors”, “Cooperation with Others”, “Main Challenges in
School Counselling Process” and “Alternative Support Routes” main themes were obtained. While the data of this research was collected by the researcher within the scope of her master’s thesis in 2013, the findings were discussed together with the results of current studies investigating the professional experiences of school counsellors in Turkey. In this phenomenological study, it was attempted to carry out an in-depth investiga- tion of the ... more In this phenomenological study, it was attempted to carry out an in-depth investiga- tion of the anxiety experiences of domestic workers, who were working as housekeep- ers but could not continue their work life during the COVID-19 outbreak. Through this, it was aimed to reveal their experiences regarding the anxiety they experienced dur- ing the pandemic process. In this study, in which the criterion sampling method was used, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 domestic worker women between the ages of 30–42. The 4-step data analysis process in Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenology pattern was used in the analyses. The descriptive phenomenologi- cal analysis revealed five main themes that describe the participants’ experiences: i) anxiety symptoms, ii) financial difficulties, iii) interfamilial relationships, iv) uncer- tainty and v) emotions that accompany anxiety. The main themes obtained by this research were similar to the sources of anxiety, its components and the emotions accompanying anxiety mentioned in the literature. During the quarantine days, it was seen that the most intense emotion experienced by domestic workers was anxiety. Although the lockdown and unemployment experiences of each participant is unique, it was determined that the most important determinants of this were economic prob- lems due to the lack of job security.
The main purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between attachment need ... more The main purpose of the present study is to investigate the relationship between attachment need in close/romantic relationships and fear of loneliness. The study is designed according to mixed research approach. Quantitative and qualitative research instruments were used respectively. Firstly Experience in Close relationships Inventory (ECR) and Adult Separation Anxiety Survey (ASA) were applied to 200 adult individuals aged between 25-35. In the second phase, 30 interviews were conducted with voluntary participants. Data gathered through quantitative and qualitative instruments were interpreted and evaluated together. Independent Samples T-test and Pearson Correlation analyses were conducted for examining quantitative data. Significant difference was found in ASA questionnaire and avoidance dimension of ECR Inventory scores between the groups formed according to gender, relationship status and relationship history. And also, significant differences were detected in both dimensions of ECR and ASA scores between participants who experienced fear of losing someone during a relationship and who did not. Pearson correlation analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between ASA questionnaire and anxiety dimension ECR Inventory. There is also positive and significant relationship between anxiety and avoidance dimensions of ECR. In qualitative phase, phenomenological research design was used. The analysis shows that participants have the fear of losing their partners and family members. Besides, they associated their fear of loneliness with leaving home and being abandoned by parents. Meanings attributed to presence of a partner consist of four themes: safety, sharing life, joy and love. Another finding indicates that absence of a partner leads to feeling incomplete, not being worthy of love and loneliness. Some participants described absence of a partner as a positive process. Possible feelings attributed to hypothetical ending of current relationship are expressed in seven themes: incompleteness, fear, unhappiness, relief, hopefulness for future, disappointment and loss of trust. Loneliness and attachment processes in relationships are not only related to each other, but also they may have significant roles in close relationships. It is suggested to consider dynamics of these concepts and help individuals develop through therapeutic interventions in order to strengthen close relationships, which can deeply affect individuals' existence in personal and social mental heath.

The pet ownership has a crucial role in individuals' lives, which offers many beneficial effects.... more The pet ownership has a crucial role in individuals' lives, which offers many beneficial effects. By examining the relationship between pet ownership and owners' well-being, researchers have found that pets typically made their owners feel well. This study examines the ways in which pet owners' depression and subjective well-being levels predict their personality traits. It also aims to examine the relationship between these variables and of the participants' pet preferences. Totally, 307 pet owners participated in this study; all participants were university students living in Turkey. In addition, all participants were aged 18 and older. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was used to determine the depression levels of the participants; the Subjective Well-Being Scale (SWBS) was used to determine their subjective well-being levels, and an Abbreviated Form Of The Revised Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQR-A) was used to determine personality traits. Data was analyzed using path analysis. The study found that pet owners' depression and subjective wellbeing scores predicted their neuroticism and extraversion scores. Subjective well-being and depression predict neuroticism and extroversion in personality traits, and goodness of fit index of this model has been found to be at acceptable levels. It is important to conduct more experimental and correlational studies involving the same variables; these studies may focus on pet owners, as well as their difference with those who do not own pets. They may also focus on specific age groups, such as children, adults, and the elderly.

This study includes three parts. In this context, first one is related to the critical literature review for a personal model of counselling, second part is about critical commentaries on Interpersonal Process Recall exercise and the last part is an integration of first and second parts'. That part includes implications for IPR practice and conclusion. Further, following review of the literature firstly presents general definitions about approaches and basically, the effects of approaches used in counselling sessions. Literature review part does not include all information about the approaches that was used in supervisee's counselling sessions. The present research is a study about supervisee's towards finding a therapeutic model that best suits her and also includes some parts from her own life history. In the final part, a conclusion takes place in which the results of the study were discussed and some constructive suggestions were made in the light of literature and IPR process. Also, the issues that are seen crucial related to supervisee's experience and literature review was discussed using critical subjectivity.

Initiating and maintaining a romantic relationship is at the center of developing individuals' li... more Initiating and maintaining a romantic relationship is at the center of developing individuals' life in the process of transition to adulthood. Therefore, an important dimension of university students' experiences includes romantic relationships and romantic interests. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the mediating role of the meaning of marriage and attitudes about romance and mate selection in the relationship between irrational romantic relationship beliefs and relationship satisfaction. Analysis were done within the framework of Structural Equation Model. The data were collected by "Personal Information Form", "Relationship Beliefs Questionnaire", "Relationship Satisfaction Scale", "Attitudes about Romance and Mate Selection Scale" and "The Scale of the Meaning of Marriage" from 466 university students. Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Path Analysis and Bootstrapping Test were used to test the aims of the study. In the established structural equation model, it is seen that the meaning of marriage and attitudes about romance and mate selection has a partial mediator role in the relationship between irrational romantic relationship beliefs and relationship satisfaction. According to the results of road analysis, the direct effect of irrational romantic relationship beliefs on relationship satisfaction is high, individuals with irrational romantic relationship beliefs had limited restrictive beliefs in the mate selection and the meaning they attributed to marriage. Besides, individuals with high irrational beliefs in romantic relationships and restrictive beliefs in the mate selection and the meaning they attributed to marriage, has lower relationship satisfaction. Consequently, the fit indices of the model tested are acceptable. It is thought that identifying the romantic relationship beliefs of university students will help to understand the feelings, thoughts and behaviors of young people who have difficulties in romantic relationships.

Araş- tırmanın katılımcı grubu İstanbul İli MEB’e bağlı okullarda Okul Öncesi Öğretmeni olarak çalışan, değerler eğitimine ilişkin mesleki dersler almış yüksek lisans öğrencileri ile daha önce böyle bir eğitime katılmamış okul öncesi öğretmenleri arasından ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, nitel desende oluşturulmuş olup, verilerin analizi yaşantıların ve anlamların ortaya çı- karılması amacıyla “fenomenolojik yaklaşım” doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın veri toplama süreci yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları ile sağlanmış olup verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgularda, daha önce değerler eği- timi alan öğretmenlerin değerler eğitimi uygulama süreçlerinin artan farkındalıkla birlikte daha bilinçli ve verimli geçtiği, değerlerin aktarımına atfettikleri önemin artmasıyla uygulamalarında daha fazla yer vermeye yöneldikleri, dünya genelindeki uygulamaları inceleme fırsatı buldukları, soyut olan kavramları çocukların gelişim dönemlerine uygun bir biçimde çok çeşitli örneklerle somutlaştırarak daha rahat aktarabildikleri saptanmıştır. Possible feelings attributed to hypothetical ending of current relationship are expressed in seven themes: incompleteness, fear, unhappiness, relief, hopefulness for future, disappointment and loss of trust. Loneliness and attachment processes in relationships are not only related to each other, but also they may have significant roles in close relationships. It is suggested to consider dynamics of these concepts and help individuals develop through therapeutic interventions in order to strengthen close relationships, which can deeply affect individuals' existence in personal and social mental heath.

Problem Durumu ve Amaç: Bireylerin sahip oldukları değerlerin ve bağlanma deneyimlerinin her biri... more Problem Durumu ve Amaç: Bireylerin sahip oldukları değerlerin ve bağlanma deneyimlerinin her biri, evliliğe yönelik bakışlarını şekillendirmede belirleyici faktörlerden olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin evliliğe bakışları, sahip oldukları değer yönelimleri ve bağlanma türleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ve demografik özellikler bağlamında söz konusu değişkenlerin anlamlı farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemektir. Yöntem: Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Marmara Üniversitesi Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencilerinden 224 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Portre Değerler Anketi, Yakın İlişkilerde Yaşantılar Envanteri (YİYE) ve Evliliğe Bakış Tarzları Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmanın analizleri fark testleri, korelasyon ve çoklu regresyon analizi yapılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Fark analizi sonuçlarından elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda evliliğe bakış ile cinsiyet, ilişki durumu ve evlilik düşüncesi arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, Portre Değerler Envanteri geleneksellik alt boyut puanları ile YİYE kaçınmacı alt boyutu puanları, Evliliğe Bakış Tarzları Ölçeği anlam alt boyutu puanını anlamlı yordamaktadır. İleriye Dönük Araştırma ve Uygulama için Öneriler: Araştırma, üniversite öğrencilerinin sahip oldukları değerler ve bağlanma biçimleri doğrultusunda evliliğe bakışlarını ortaya koyması ve alan yazında benzer çalışmanın bulunmaması bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Son olarak, araştırma sonuçlarının üniversitelerin farklı fakültelerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerle de gerçekleştirilmesi önerilmektedir.
Purpose: Individuals' values and attachment experiences may be determinant in shaping their marriage aspects. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship among university students' perceptions of marriage, their value orientation and attachment levels, and whether these variables are meaningful in the context of demographic characteristics. Method: The research is in the correlational survey model. Participants of the research are composed of in total 224 students from Marmara University Ataturk Faculty of Education. In this research, Portrait Values Questionnaire, Experiences in Close Relationships Scale (ECR) and Marital Aspects Scale were used as data collection tools. The analysis of the study were carried out by difference tests, correlation and multiple regression analysis. Findings: According to research findings, traditionalism as a subscale of Psychological Well-being Scale and avoidant as a subscale of ECR significantly predict meaning subscale of Marital Aspects Scale. Traditionalism as a subscale of Psychological Well-being Scale and anxious as a subscale of ECR significantly predict meaning subscale of Marital Aspects Scale. Also, traditionalism as a subscale of Psychological Well-being Scale and avoidant as a subscale of ECR significantly predict physical intimacy subscale of Marital Aspects Scale. Implications for Research and Practice: This research has an importance to be based on the values and attachment styles of university students and in point of the absence of similar work in the literature. Finally, it is suggested that the results of the research should be realized by students from different faculties of the universities.
Öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırma, davranış problemlerini azaltma, yeniliklere uyum, dezavantajlı öğrencile... more Öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırma, davranış problemlerini azaltma, yeniliklere uyum, dezavantajlı öğrencileri destek- leme gibi sağladığı çok boyutlu faydalar ile sosyal ve duygusal beceriler, çocukların akademik performansla- rını ve hayat boyu öğrenmelerini geliştirmede kritik role sahiptir. Bu becerileri güçlü olan öğrencilerin sosyal bağlantılarını daha kolay kurabildiği ve sürdürebildiği, zorluklarla daha kolay başa çıkabildiği, öğrenmeye daha hazır olduğu görülmektedir. Son yıllarda, okullarda zorbalık, uyum sorunları, madde kullanımı, kont- rolsüz teknoloji kullanımındaki artışlar, salgın, deprem gibi biyolojik ve doğal afetler; öğrencilerin duygusal refahını, kişiler arası etkileşimlerini, sosyal uyumlarını etkileyerek stres ve kaygı düzeylerini artırmaktadır. Bu sorunlarla baş etmeyi kolaylaştıran sosyal ve duygusal becerilerin önemi daha da belirgin hale gelmiş; sos- yal duygusal gelişim, artık, çocukların eğitiminin ve başarılı okul reformu çabalarının temel bir parçası olarak kabul görmeye başlamıştır. Bu bağlamda, erken çocukluk yıllarından itibaren sosyal-duygusal becerilerin geliştirilmesi ve bu gelişimin planlı ölçme ve değerlendirme faaliyetleriyle takip edilmesi önemlidir. Bu çalış- mayla dünyada ve Türkiye’de sosyal-duygusal öğrenmeye yönelik uygulamalar, sosyal-duygusal becerilere yönelik ölçme ve değerlendirme konuları veriler ışığında ele alınarak temel ihtiyaç alanlarının belirlenmesi ve bu doğrultuda öneriler sunulması amaçlanmıştır.

In line with the findings, suggestions were made to contribute to the improvement of school psychological counseling services.
