In the modern times, Balochi is in contact with Persian, Arabic, Pashto, Turkmen, Sindhi, Punjabi, Saraiki (Lahinda), English and other European and African languages. At the same time, the Balochi language has been influenced on the one hand and on the other hand Balochi has influenced other languages and assimilated them within it. But Balochi has been largely influenced in Iran, Afghanistan, and in the Arab countries. In Pakistan and Turkmenistan the case is different. In many areas in Balochistan, the foreigners and other native speakers have changed their language into Balochi or bilingual.

It was assumed that 4,000 years ago the population of Balochistan was sparsely distributed and the catchments covered with lush green forests. However, agrarian settlements in different areas during the post and mature Harappan periods exhibited a tremendous anthropogenic pressure on fragile ecosystems that resulted in metamorphic changes in past climate of these regions. The presence of gabar-bands, intended for the control of flooding surface water, and constructing Qanãt, in different parts of Balochistan are clear evidence of climatic changes from subtropical to semiarid desert. In this paper the prehistoric climate of Balochistan will be discussed in the light of gabar-bands and Qanãt. Similarly, the history of these ancient technologies will also be discussed.

A few nations have practiced it as the part of literature, and developed it as the essence of their classic literature, but the other nations have yet adopted it orally. The elegy is considered to be an eminent part of the Balochi folk literature and society. Elegy is the part of folk literature, which was brought into written shape during the British era as well as after the formation of Pakistan. The paper illustrates all aspects of the Balochi elegy, its written and unwritten history and also its concepts among the Baloch people.
