ALPHA DROP: if I did everything correctly, I was able to catalog +1.2M addresses that look like ERC20 contracts on mainnet.
All of that in ~50min on my slow laptop. 👀
I’ve talked to some orgs in the past about getting long term funding for @otterscan as a public good and the answer was “we don’t want to fund a block explorer, max we can do is small grant”
although we found other ways to survive for now, it’s sad most people are ok with that
Quick announcement: I'm releasing topic0, an open database of Ethereum event log signatures.
github.com/wmitsuda/topic0
The hashes in this db can be used to revert an event signature and perform log decoding.
Please share if you think it can be useful to other devs!
Short 🧵👇
Uhu! RetroPGF 2 results came out and @otterscan was awarded almost 69K OP as a result 🥳
I'd like to thank all badge holders who voted for it and say that although it's for "retro" work, those funds will be very well employed for the project continuity 🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦
Huge news: the results of RetroPGF 2 are in! 🌞🌱
This experiment in retroactive public goods funding is driving growth of the Optimism ecosystem by allocating resources to the projects and people that have demonstrated positive impact.

if @gitcoin really wants to be inclusive, it should prioritize L2 support for donations/grantees ASAP.
not supporting zksync/polygon in the new platform from start is a big regression.
a quick point of view from a grant owner (cough... @otterscan) from Brazil: (1/n)
Glad to see Etherscan implemented a feature we invented in @otterscan 🙂
Seriously, I'm not criticizing it, I'm really proud to see our UI improvements being adopted by the market leader and it shows we are in the right direction.
I was able to fit an entire functional mainnet archive into < 900 GB using Erigon + ZFS + compression (with some tradeoffs)
Yes, ➡️➡️➡️AN ENTIRE MAINNET ARCHIVE NODE⬅️⬅️⬅️
A short 🧵👇
I'm safe now, managed the situation, but want to share what happened in case other people coming face it.
I was aware of taxi issues here, but even so I made some mistakes (which I usually don't) too, probably because I was too tired after a +20 hours travel: (1/n)
Ok, I just landed in Istanbul and the taxi driver is trying to rug me.
Just publishing it here in case something happens and I don't give notice.
Will publish full story here in 1 hour if I get to the hotel.
I upstreamed all @otterscan patches for @ErigonEth , that means: no need for installing a modified Erigon binary anymore!
From the next Erigon release, all users should be able to use Otterscan API out-of-box!
