The trails and trailheads at Mount Si, Little Si, and Mount Teneriffe are closed until 0800 June 18, 2026 due to bear activity. We send our thanks to our colleagues @WDFW @KingCountySAR for coordinating the response and safety of recreators in the area.

This is a great reminder to stay aware while you are hiking, make noise as you go, bring bear spray along, and keep your distance from any wildlife. You can find out more information about bear safety at wdfw.wa.gov/blackbears.

Our fire team is working fast alongside local crews to help get a handle on this fast moving fire in Spokane Valley. My thoughts are with everyone affected. I’m urging everyone to give firefighters space and stay out of the area.

That's right, -4.3ft tides happening today and tomorrow! Keep in mind that these creatures you see during a low-tide LOVE the camera, but do not love being touched, so explore responsibly!

For that first real heat wave it’s important to remember: water in you- good and hydrating you in water- cold and hypothermic

"That one looks like a dog" "That one looks like ice cream" "That one looks like it cares about wildfire prevention"
A beautiful blue sky, with clouds that somehow resemble the words "Don't set the state on fire" and, miraculously happy little clouds AND a rainbow appeared too. Nature is beautiful.

Dark side of the moon has now become the brightest part of my day ❤️
A rare photo of the dark side of the moon from Artemis II, and in a shocking turn of events we learn that moon aliens are secretly WA wildfire advocates as they have so neatly written "Don't set the state on fire" on the back of the moon.
