RTE’s reverential coverage of the Pope’s visit was not journalism. It was propaganda for an institution that has been criminally complicit in the rape and buggery of children around the world and is the prime institutional carrier of mysogyny and homophobia.

It is scandalous that a judge of our highest court should be indifferent to regulations protecting the welfare of Irish people. Seamus Wolfe has to go.

Many years ago, a senior minister phoned me saying he had a document which he wanted to leak to me but he couldn’t be seen to do so. I published the document. The same minister announced an inquiry into the leak!

Fine Gael’s conduct in this election campaign has been extraordinary. At the outset it devised a budget that broke promises to keep social welfare payments in step at least with inflation, the failure over 13 years to provide houses for those who need them, the spectacular

What the Davy executives did is a crime. The Central Bank has the power to prosecute them but hasn’t. Now the DPP must do it. Too often prominent people in business, media and the financial sectors have got away with crime.

We need more than 5 million vaccines. If we are to get out of Covid in 2021, we need to vaccinate 100,000 a week. We are vaccinate only a fraction of that. Nevertheless, self congratulation is pervasive.

In case we are overcome by Ireland’s generosity towards people in crisis, in 2019 the four FG MEPs including Mairead McGuinness, now, disgracefully an EU commissioner, voted against a motion in the EU Parliament, to provide more resources to rescue drowning refugees in the Med.

How is it we rejoice at the ingenious, brave rescue of the children in the Thailand cave, and yet are indifferent to the fate of children drowned in their thousands in The Mediterranean #. Children who we could save with the compassion, bravery and ingenuity evident in Thailand?

Mary Lou wants Leo Varadkar sacked because the Gardai are investigating him re a crime: the leaking of a confidential documenting document. Why did she not demand Gerry Adams be sacked when the PSNI were investigating him re a crime: Jean McConville’s murder?

Leo Varadkar says we are neutral in military terms and therefore we can’t provide armaments to Ukraine. Were we military neutral when we allowed America use Shannon airport facilitating the illegal invasion of Iraq?

What is surprising in this Presidential campaign is not that Michael D has such overwhelming support, but that ANYBODY would indicate support for the Dragon windbags. There is NOBODY in Ireland better suited to be President for the next seven years than Michael D

The prospect of Mairead McGuinness becoming President is appalling. She voted against a motion in the European Parliament to provide further resources to save lives in the Mediterranean. She then gave a false explanation for doing so. She has to be stopped.

A journalist of The Times of London wrote of Bloody Sunday that the British Army killed nobody that day - the IRA had 13 bodies in a refrigerator and planted them around the Derry streets to discredit the Brits.
