This is absurd. The vast majority of children can sit an exam with others, and the main reason why so many now think that we can't is because we tell them they can't. Adults need to teach children that they *can* cope, because when we don't, we create children who believe they

I am *still* hearing about school proudly announcing their plans to build flexible, open-plan learning spaces with no walls etc, and my advice to anyone thinking about doing this is do not do this.

The problem with the #REOPENSCHOOLS campaign is that they never closed. That, plus the fact that we’re so close to beating this damn virus with a vaccine that we shouldn’t make every sacrifice meaningless by wasting every gain we’ve made.

Shout out to all the PE teachers going into school wearing shorts in January, -as God intended you to do- even when you have no games or activities. This is what you trained for. Hold the line. Long trousers make you weak.

Sympathy to and solidarity with @Docstockk for the shocking and violent abuse thrown at her- everyone should condemn it, and some students need a reminder that intimidation is incompatible with undergraduate membership of an institution that values free expression

I have so much admiration for the achievements at Michaela Community School in Wembley. Students there are safe, successful, and learn in dignity. They get an education that people would pay thousands for, for free. Families that send their children there know their children are
