    👀 The overhead electric wire stanchions are all lined up and the future of cleaner, greener train journeys is in sight at Stalybridge. 🌳 By the middle of the decade, electric wires will power cleaner, greener and faster trains between Stalybridge and Manchester.

    Work continues in #Huddersfield & #Deighton as engineers remove the old tracks and demolish the platforms ⚒️ Customers can still get to where they need to be via diversionary routes or buses, and extra staff are on hand to support 🙏 Please check @nationalrailenq for the latest

    🚦With most of the new track now in place at Stalybridge we’re making progress installing new signals & overhead line equipment 🏗️First job was to remove this signal gantry to allow new signals to be positioned and create room for electric wires to be installed above the tracks

    🌧️Sunday’s torrential rain didn’t stop our track team completing their final section of renewed track between Colton & Church Fenton 🛤️They battled the elements to replace ballast, sleepers & rails to give a smoother journey and enable faster, more frequent trains in the future

    🦃 While the turkey was in yesterday, our team were installing overhead electrical wires just outside of #York. These upgrades will allow electric trains to run through the area in the future, bring us one step closer to greener, faster and more reliable services 🍃💨
