Sian got one of those texts from an unrecognised number purportedly from our oldest son who had lost his phone. But because he is overseas in the wilds she was concerned it could just be true. So she asked him to name his cat. Fair play to the scammer for having a punt:

The cover image of the Harry book looks like a scientific reconstruction of the face of a neolithic hunter found remarkably well preserved in a peat bog

The silhouetted remains of the High Court Banksy are much more likeable than the original - creating a curiously medieval quality...as if depicting Thomas a Becket being attacked in the crypt

When Meatloaf sang: ‘I will do anything for love (but I won’t do that)’ I assumed at the time he was referring to some extreme sex act but as I get older I think it’s more probable it was something more like ‘go to Bluewater on a Saturday’ or ‘watch Call The Midwife’

Just landed in Heathrow Airport T3. Went into M&S. Three staff working. I said to them “Autoglass repair”. None of them responded with "Autoglass replace” I have a voice recording & their names to report to M&S. We must confront them every time.

Our local pub shut down the other day. It had been serving since the 17th century. I wrote about how grim this is - link below

In just six years we have moved from “spend a year of your degree course studying at a continental university” to “when you finish your A levels go and spend a year living in barracks in the Brecon Beacons learning how to storm a machine gun turret”. Well done everyone.
