    When my mom died I found this Letter to the Editor among her possessions. She’s calling out John Klein, the Town Supervisor in Smithtown LI, for his racist housing policies. I think it’s from the 1970s. It inspires me to name names, and call out BS. Don’t live afraid.

    Happy Loving Day! My parents marriage was illegal in 1958 (in Maryland). The Supreme Court didn’t overturn the ban on interracial marriage til 1967. Here I am with them in 1966!

    My mom died today. Joining my dad who passed away 40 days ago. She was a pretty remarkable lady. An immigrant from Cuba, she lived with the Oblate Sisters of Providence in Baltimore during college. Here (on the left) she is in Cuba in the 1930s.
