First round of @Starlink terminals are airborne. We're working with local officials to make sure they get to the remote areas that need them as quickly as possible. We're also paying for unlimited data plans for each one. This is one of many things @TheYallSquad is doing thanks

Listen up, if you think basic facts about weather forecasting capabilities are "political," you're absolutely cooked. I will NEVER stop sounding the alarm when our ability to keep YOU and your family safe is compromised. This isn't politics. This is public safety. Full stop.

I’m starting to think some of these conspiracy theorists have just never looked up at the sky until recently or something.

It’s quite possible the worst of the damage has yet to be documented / reported in rural western NC. Helene will be remembered as one of the most devastating storms of the modern era. Many places have been geographically altered & the rebuilding process will take a lifetime.

Y’all, when it rains a lot, it floods. It’s always been that way. Flooding has existed as long as rain has. It can destroy homes, wreck communities, and take lives. That’s why we’ve built warning systems. That’s why I do what I do. But lately, there’s a rise in conspiracy

Way ahead of schedule, Milton is now officially a Hurricane. It will become a Major Hurricane in the coming days. The largest evacuation we’ve seen in years is being planned right now in Florida.

This is devastating news. Today's reported layoffs at the NWS will impact our ability to keep Americans safe from extreme weather. These forecasters are essential frontline workers who save lives during hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Cutting these meteorologists isn't just

I am now hearing from multiple folks in the past two hours (including some who have personally been fired) that mass firings have now commenced within NOAA--including, yes, at the National Weather Service.

Weather forecasts about to get dicey… National Weather Service forced to cut weather balloon launches in half across the Midwest. Less data = less accurate forecasts. Blame the staff shortage.

NWS is suspending or reducing weather balloon launches at several more sites citing staffing.
