One of the opening acts of Trump's war of choice was the massacre of schoolkids in Iran. Those kids would be alive today if Congress had done our job and restrained the president's lust for power. Sadly, House Republicans again blocked a bill to end the war. A contemptible

Four years ago, Congress passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and enacted the first major gun safety measures in decades.   Trump rolled back much of that progress, making our families and communities less safe – but I continue to fight to end the scourge of gun violence.

Those fleeing persecution deserve the chance to have their asylum claims heard, and Congress established a process to determine who qualifies for that protection.   But the Supreme Court's conservative majority today ruled the Executive Branch can bypass that process entirely by

By allowing the government to systematically block asylum seekers before they can even apply, the MAGA Court lets the Executive Branch usurp Congress and rewrite federal law. Today’s decision effectively revises our asylum system from the bench in a total betrayal of people

This sweeping decision hands the Trump administration authority to strip legal status from Haitian and Syrian TPS holders, forcing many to return to violence and instability. Worse still, this decision opens the door to putting 1.3 million TPS holders at similar risk.

This decision could impact 1.3 million people on TPS, some who have been here since the early 90s. This is a devastating loss for millions of American families, and countless employers will soon be losing workers. This is the biggest de-legalization moment in modern history.

The Court’s decision to strip TPS from hundreds of thousands of Haitian and Syrian families who fled war, natural disasters, and humanitarian catastrophe is another grave moral and constitutional failure of the MAGA court. We don’t send our neighbors back into chaos and violence

After Park Police officers chased then shot and killed Bijan Ghaisar in 2017, I fought for justice, accountability, and much needed reforms to prevent what happened to him from happening again. I was encouraged when @Interior amended various policies, including on vehicular

Vehicular pursuits are dangerous. They put innocent people in harm’s way. Burgum should immediately reinstate the previous pursuit restrictions and conduct a full, transparent investigation into Nolberto Meza’s death. Meza's loved ones and our community deserve justice.

$1,000. That's what the Iran war has cost the typical American household so far — at the pump, at the grocery store, in higher mortgage rates, and in what we're spending as taxpayers. And the total keeps climbing. Full piece in The Philadelphia Inquirer:

JUST IN: PCE Inflation jumped to 4.1% (y/y) in May -- That's the highest inflation in 3 years and it's due largely to the war in Iran impact. Core PCE inflation (excluding food and energy) rose to 3.4% --> the highest since fall 2023. This is painful for the middle class and
