- Today was my last day at @OpenAI. 20 months ago, I left the YC startup I founded to join the Codex team where I prototyped the first code interpreter demos. From there, I helped start the internal Human Data team, where we built tools to produce data for frontier efforts, one

- TIL You can rent a big movie theatre in SF for ~$1500 and show any movie you want with your friends.
- I was testing new GPUs and thought I found an issue with the hardware. Then I realized you can "hear" different model architectures. When stress tests run at full capacity, the GPUs produce distinct rhythmic sounds and are distinguishable by frequency and step progression.

- Casually had lunch talking about nuclear power, submarines, and robots. 60yo woman interrupts us to share she worked on patents for the trident missile system and offered to share the manuals she has at home. Only in S.F.
- AI Grant Batch 4 companies announced. Startups saving inspectors weeks on reports, voice APIs powering outbound contact centers, image-to-gps geoguesser as an API, actually good meeting summaries (without a bot in your call), foundation models for weather forecasting and more.

Print out weekly updates, collect old mocks, and file them for the future. I got a lot of joy filing 170+ pages of weekly updates last weekend, knowing I can look back on them. Physical artifact > decommissioned servers.
