📸 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Presidential Peace Adviser @SecMelSarmiento engaged with the UN Resident Coordinator Mr. @ArnaudPeral and several UN entities operating in the Philippines on Thursday, June 11 at the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Pasig City.
Sec. Sarmiento thanked the UN for its continued support to the Philippine Comprehensive Peace Process through its work to align with the government’s peacebuilding and development efforts, strengthen BARMM institutions, support service expansion, and scale joint interventions.
To date, the United Nations maintains a nationwide operational presence in the Philippines through 28 entities, with 15 of these entities actively operating across 24 locations in Mindanao.
OPAPRU expanded its Crisis Response Teams’ coverage to support earthquake-affected former rebels and their families in remote communities across Davao Occidental, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani following the 7.8-magnitude quake.
