Rogue agent opens a PR to remove "if the model did not cheat" from the grader's criteria
Good story but false. Test PR was created (w no changes) from an old version that didn't have the "don't cheat" instructions yet. Diff now *wrongly* looks like deletion
AI art sucks but a lot of artist adjacents (like designers) have already been forced to give over to the machine. Design has had this business vs art dynamic forever but it's much sharper now that non-artists can paste ~crappy alternatives side by side. Won't this keep going?
There's this idea that "first AI came for artists, now it's coming for mathematicians, who’s next?"
But this is totally wrong. The artists are fine, actually; AI art sucks. This isn't some ideological "we need to support human artists" claptrap: AI art is literally just worse.
Lot of people think that great art requires a deep grounding in unique human experiences
This is just a theory! Historically overdetermined. About to be actually tested and found wanting
