Ministry of Education (who is also responsible for Child Care) sent a memo out last week directing centres to deny school age children space during the school day. Because it is all about the kids, right? Lecce gives not a fig about kids or families or clearly anyone’s rights

We will not allow our rights to be legislated away. They may have a majority in the legislature. We have a majority across the province. We will take a stand and do everything we can to defend workers' rights and to defend public education.

Honestly - because we didn’t see this coming. This was never “about the kids” for Lecce, this was ALWAYS about feathering the nests of big business buddies & donors The diverting of public funds to private school- so predictable.

Legislation uses the “Not Withstanding Clause” on the Charter & Human Rights Code This was never about Education Workers. This was about stripping away the rights of workers in Ontario. The line is drawn. #NotOurGovernment #HandsOffOurRights #39KIsNotEnough

We are at the table. We are focused on a deal that works for workers, students & families. Kids are in class. Don’t take advantage of our good nature. We need Bill 28 repealed & a good deal that pulls us out of low income & provides real services for kids. Why the delay?

NEW - Why not recall the legislature now to repeal bill 28 now, Ford is asked. Premier says he will do it and that CUPE should “Put a little water in its wine“ as he has done. CUPE told CityNews yesterday that it would prefer the bill withdrawn now.

We see Ford’s snowstorm Samaritan act,but we want to amplify the men & women who reported to our schools,our hospitals,our childcare ctrs,our road maintenance & paramedic hubs etc.These ppl don’t get the media attn but they also don’t disappear-let’s focus on the real heroes

As to @Sflecce claim that our proposal is larger is larger than the entire education budget of Saskatchewan - the entire population of Saskatchewan is 1.174 million. The population of Toronto alone is 2.93 million. 🤔🤔🤔 again not the flex you were hoping for Stephen.
