- UPDATE: Our investigation has determined that there was an altercation between two individuals, during which one person brandished a firearm. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. The mall will remain closed for the remainder of the business day. OPD will maintain a presence on scene for security. - Ocala Police responded to a report of a shooting at Paddock Mall. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence that a shooting had occurred. There were no reported injuries.There is a large OPD and MCSO presence at the location. Officers are currently investigating the incident and are working to clear the scene. We expect the mall to resume normal operations shortly. An update will be provided as more information becomes available.
