- Did @10xGenomics just make newer versions of Cell Ranger open source? github.com/10XGenomics/ce… (cc @sjackman, @luizirber). This is a huge win for open, transparent, and reproducible science if it’s the case!
- Replying to @jmschreiber91 and @dkjhauncA CS postdoc making under $70k is literally probably at a third (or less in some cases) of their industry value. There are limits to how much of a financial hit people may be willing or able to take to stay in academia...
- When I sign my emails “Best”, it’s short for “Best of luck navigating this apocalyptic Hellscape that has beset us over the past several years, and I hope, in earnest, to celebrate with you in revelry on the other side”. But that doesn’t fit on one line, so I just go with “Best”.
- Thrilled, grateful and honored that our lab has recently received an NSF CAREER award. This will help fund our research (& my amazing students) for the next 5 years. It will also fund outreach projects that, I hope, will be informative and *fun*; stay tuned. Thank you, NSF!
