    President William Ruto signals he’s asked his predecessor Kenyatta to serve as his representative in peace talks on the conflicts in Ethiopia and the DRC. Will come as a big relief to diplomats who worried Nairobi would back out of the two initiatives.

    Interesting that Kenyatta and Odinga, both of whom claim to have won the presidency, pointedly avoided the word President in their presser and instead referred to each other as 'Ndugu,' Kiswahili for brother.

    Considering the scale of the war in Northern Ethiopia, really pathetic that the AU is taking such a casual approach and basically never consulted anyone on talks to find a way out of conflict.
