Today my apartment management called and told me I have to take down the #Palestine flag I’ve had hanging on my balcony for the past two months. Someone complained. 🧵

I checked my lease and I can hang it in my window — so that’s what I’ll do. But let’s not pretend this was neutral. This was silencing. This was erasure, folded into property management language. Palestine is not going anywhere. And neither are those of who stand against genocide

Let’s be clear: this wasn’t about policy. This was about someone not liking the visibility of Palestine. Not liking the discomfort of being reminded. Not liking that I dared to hang a flag that says, “I see what’s happening. And I will not look away.”

When I asked if they were also requiring the neighbor with a Warriors flag to take theirs down, the response was: “Yeah, well… what if someone doesn’t like the #Warriors?” And I haven’t stopped thinking about that. Because no one is knocking on doors about Steph Curry.

No one is saying a sports flag “might hurt our ability to rent units.” No one feels politically threatened by team colors. Sports teams don’t challenge power. The Palestinian flag does.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United Sates of America. And for which it stands, one giant typo, and OMFG get me off this planet.

My family in Tehran has piled into a car and evacuated. This is war, unfolding in real time. Other relatives are meeting them halfway because gas is being rationed. As my sister said, it’s taking a literal village to get them to places that may only be slightly less dangerous.

Iran is subject to some of the most intensive IAEA inspections and monitoring in the world. Israel has a clandestine nuclear weapons program with zero oversight. Now it’s escalating again. Aggressors gonna aggress. #NoWarWithIran

I hear people say “Netanyahu isn’t Israel,” and yes, there are Israelis protesting the violence in Gaza. But comments like these, and polls like this, make it clear: removing Bibi isn’t enough. The rot is systemic. You can’t return to what Israel was, because what it’s been has

I feel overstimulated and furious, by both the attack itself and the media’s portrayal of it as a “preemptive strike.” They hit residential buildings. They killed children. Western media isn’t just biased, it’s complicit. Israel provokes its neighbors, slaughters civilians,

You’re a genocidal military repeatedly caught lying to cover up your war crimes. No one believes you. You murder journalists when you have something to hide.

A big thanks to @VICE for giving me the chance to share my story about being Iranian American and how the recent escalations between the two countries I love have impacted me. #NoWarWithIran

The US just bombed three Iranian nuclear sites. My first thought: JFC. My second: maybe it’s a one-off. Not because they value life, but because they’ve done the sacrificial math about how many American deaths they’re willing to accept if Iran retaliates. This country won’t
