    On this April Fools I remember when I got into biz school and my sister prank called me pretending to be Sheryl Sandberg. "Congratulating a handful of young women headed to my alma mater" And we spoke for 8 minutes. And I kept saying, "It's just so kind of you to reach out" 😐

    I wish the MTA had a Subway Wrapped at the end of the year--showing all the lines I took, the miles covered, the longest and shortest trips, suggesting where I should visit in NYC next, etc.

    I think this does sometimes happen when VC partners suffer from what I call discovery bias (“I found it so I love it.” Or “my buddy introduced me so I love it”) But good firms avoid this tendency and enjoy a majority of their dealflow from associates.

    pitching an associate is detrimental and it’s the surest way to killing the investment opportunity. never pitch them. they are not mandated to make investments and don’t have the clout to push deals through. you play a game of telephone up through the org. for the record,
