    As Europe wakes up to US election result it is important to avoid 2 big traps: panic & denial. one, states concerned about their security panicking & rushing to DC try to cut special bilateral deals. The other is not to take Trump seriously & not to prepare for a new world. 1/

    Devastating critique of EU. You can add our increasing struggles to set a path on climate, China & regulations. Striking to see countries like Türkiye desperate to go to sco & Brics but sitting out the EPC meeting. We need some serious rethinking about EU foreign policy

    Events in Israel make clear the EU's impotence & inability to shape world around it. Irrelevant in Mid-East. Can't backfill US mil support if Ukr funding dries up. Can't sort Nagorno-Karabakh. Losing the Global South Didn't @vonderleyen want to run a Geopolitical @EU_Commission?
