Block space is scarce. Arbitrary data displaces monetary transactions. Bitcoin becomes worse as money. That's all there is to it for me.

I think Gloria will have to resign for Core to get any respect again in the future. Saying things like this is something you don't come back from, and I say that as someone who prefers to allow a path to redemption whenever possible.

I fully support this new soft fork idea. The author picked a bad hill to die on. Spam (arbitrary data) is bad is justification enough. All mention of "legality" wasn't necessary. Fork it out. Fix the bugs. Stop the spam. That's all that was needed.
