I buried a man today. He spent the last quarter of his life serving his wife, severely disabled by a stroke. He fed her, bathed her, changed her, combed her hair every day for 25 years. She died 2yrs ago. He was broken, longing to be with her. Now he is. He was a Christian man.
Minus the fire and marshmallows and maybe the whale (it was a big fish, possibly a whale), it actually happened. So did the flood and all the other things the Bible tells us happened.

What's sad about this post is that Mr. Gaines has decided to detach "love" from God. Taking two confused and lost men raising a child together, affirming them as if they are a married couple, platforming them in their confusion and lostness...all of it is cruel beyond words.
