UPDATE: We've been informed by @usedgov that we meet the requirements for the waiver of assessment & accountability for the 2019-20 school year and that formal approval is forthcoming. As a result, we are canceling the administration of 2020 K-PREP. #KyEd

Statement from @KYCommishGlass on passage of Senate Bill 1. #KyEd
Agraphic that reads This law does not go far enough in providing the flexibility in different school models that our schools need. Further, the politically-motivated effort to remove masking requirements in public schools weakens our virus mitigation efforts as a state at the very time they are needed most.

We will be working with Kentucky’s school districts as they continue to try to keep students in school safely and do our best to manage the consequences of the decisions made by our legislature in this special session.

🚨: There is a fake social media post attributed to Gov. Andy Beshear circulating tonight that falsely states all of Kentucky's schools will be closed starting March 16, 2020. This is FALSE. For official updates from the governor, follow his account @GovAndyBeshear. #KyEd

Following a conversation with @kycommissioner and @GovAndyBeshear, it's been recommended Kentucky schools do not return to in-person classes for the rest of 2019-20 year. Our schools will continue @MyNTIky in order to reach 1,062 instructional hours. More info soon. #KyEd
