many people asked me to make a video about my complete agentic engineering workflow excited to share it's finally here!!! it took me about 20 hours in total to record this 45 minutes of walkthrough - it covers everything i do to ship production quality code at an average 40+

A year later you have 5 neovim developers, who spent most of the year tweaking their configs and are finally, almost ready to start doing real work

This is a bit misleading to be honest. Bun Shell is NOT a shell. For a minute I thought I could drop zsh and have a javascript powered shell. Turns out it’s just a helper function for executing common unix commands.

Try neovim - 10x faster writing code. Only catch is that most of the code you write going forward will be neovim configs.

Read a lot of threads and it seems backend devs all say it’s amazing because it saves them from the frontend mess, and the frontend they build is often toys which htmx can totally handle. But many frontend devs don’t quite see the value because they feel handicapped by it.

It’s actually great that you can understand the structure of an app through a declarative structure like this. With imperative programming all the components and complexity is still there, but they’d usually be written in a spaghetti way that’s much harder to read and navigate.

You have this sad world view because you are focusing too much on money. If you move your eyes away from money for a bit, a company is a group of people who are making something valuable to the world that they couldn’t individually achieve. Makes sense now?

Principal engineer: it takes 6 weeks for the team to change the label color?? I’m going to fix the broken process so this can happen in a weekend.

Can you really “learn” to love something though? I tend to think some things are hard wired, and if I learned that I really don’t enjoy something, I might be better off trying something else. Speaking as someone who loves tech but has seen too many people who just don’t.

Thought experiment - if you gave me a bottle of sea water and told me “here’s some water”. I drank it and got sick. Strictly speaking sea water is also water, but the common expectation is when you hand people a bottle of water it’s drinkable. Fair to say it’s misleading?
