2022 and black hair is still being policed and regulated. This is why it’s so infuriating to see non-black people wearing black hairstyles when we aren’t even allowed to wear them freely.

Starting today Illinois schools can no longer ban cornrows, locs, afros and braids from school. Thanks to a West Side Chicago mom who fought for hair discrimination.
