We are happy to announce an online school on astronomy and astrophysics that will be organized by IISER Mohali during May 2024. The school is aimed at students who are interested in astronomy and are completing their first year undergraduate studies in sciences or engineering.

A leopard passed through our kitchen garden this morning, probably on the trail of boar that dug up our garden last night. @IiserMohali

MS thesis presentations by students working in astronomy and related areas. We suddenly realized that a third of physics majors are working in these areas. We had 12 presentations yesterday, 8 more to follow.

It is not often that one can make an exam problem from a recent paper. Managed to do this with arxiv.org/abs/2404.10486 for my course on astronomy meant for early stage undergraduate students @IiserMohali

Completed six months as Dean Academics, and what a stretch it has been! By the end of day one, I had to convey that classes are being suspended because of Covid-19. A rapid transition to online teaching followed along with many things where a new way had to be found.

Received an RTI query. One of the questions is: "Whether it is possible to have a perpetual motion machine? Please provide details."
