- The economic argument for a 3rd Runway falls apart on the government’s own figures. An expensive white elephant that will inevitably demand a public subsidy with the excessive costs falling on taxpayers shoulders. Just drop it & let’s move on.
- Visited Hayes Town Chapel summer fete & listened to a wonderful talk by John Lodge on the history of the Chapel & its role in the community since 1788.
- As chair of the RMT Parliamentary Group I send my deepest sympathy & condolences to the family & friends of the train driver who lost his life today, also to our colleagues in Aslef and to all those injured in this tragic accident.

00:00 - The scale of the cuts to journalism at the BBC threatens the station’s ability to report the news & provide the expert analysis of the issues our community faces both here and across the globe. It’s a huge mistake.
- Congratulations to PCS union on this landmark insourcing win, bringing 2000 members back into the civil service; workers in catering, security officers, cleaners, porters, engineers, plumbers, electricians, receptionists & more. Well done Fran Heathcote, Gen Sec. @pcs_union
