Today the far right came to Ipswich. They sought to sow division and spread their hate. Instead, people in the town united, stood up to their bigotry and said: 'this is not who we are'. Ipswich is a welcoming, diverse and inclusive town and hope will always defeat hatred.

The dust has barely settled on a hard-fought election campaign, but we're hitting the ground running. People desperately need change, so there is no time to waste. It's a privilege to serve the people of Ipswich and I've got to work immediately. In 'the office' and ready to go.

A true leader would be out in front of No. 10, today, addressing the nation, providing reassurance and clarity. They wouldn't be AWOL while the economy goes into freefall. Then again, no responsible Prime Minister would've signed off such a reckless budget to start with.

There is much to be proud of in Ipswich, but it is a priority of mine to revive our town centre, and I used my first #PMQs to raise this. I was delighted that the Prime Minister recommitted to reforming business rates (and that he welcomed #ITFC's return to the Premier League!).

Insulting nonsense. Junior doctors undergo an average of 10 years training after 5 years at medical school. They treat people and save lives every single day, including in Ipswich Hospital. They are the backbone of our NHS. Thank you to each and every one of them.
