I am far from infallible but I just want people I love and care about have the best possible opportunity to be okay.

Over the period of unemployment I never felt more worthless, I was spiralling in to debt and I had no purpose. Rejoining wasn’t an option because the Corps was full due to the intake after the Royal Marines Commando School TV program (That I was ironically a part of)

Life changed rapidly, from being an instructor at Commando Training Centre to lining up at the job centre to collect my dole money. I quickly realised that the transition would be much harder than I ever imagined.

Low and behold, this meeting created a £300k investment for our cause and all the pain we went through became experience, lessons learned (few of many more to come). 8 months later, imployable was born.

Eventually I was employed by an Ex Army Captain to as a digital project manager. A job I thoroughly enjoyed. I was lucky enough to manage some exciting projects for the likes of Louis Vuitton and RAC and loads of startups.

My time unemployed left deep scars, I was hearing more and more about service people committing suicide, even a few of my friends I knew all there was to know about the app world, why couldn’t I be the one to fix it, right the wrongs I had and create something meaningful

I could have stayed there, been very successful and earned a huge amount of money. But once again I got the itch and I needed to scratch it. Once again I threw caution to the wind and risked it all.

In 2018 I got the opportunity to give a talk at the Plymouth Area Business Council. An opportunity I wasn’t going to squander. I gave an empowering speech about the future of work and how the UK was doing a massive disservice, not just to veterans but all disadvantaged people

So we had some drawings on napkins that I redrew in a sketch book and went about making it a reality. We asked friends and family for investment and gave them shares in the company, we managed to raise £20k (those people are still shareholders today).
