When all foreign media eventually leave Zimbabwe, which will happen in a day or two, keep a close eye on Zimbabwe. And please give credit to the local journalists, they/we risk our lives giving u the story and we can’t run to an embassy for safety. We go home to our families

#Zimbabwe President Mnangagwa walked past me today in his way to meet a Chinese business delegation. He politely smiled, greeted me and other journos. We are so used to being pushed aside by Mugabe’s security.

Working in Nigeria. In Kano. We interviewed someone very important. First time I was given the brown envelope. I opened it. Saw the US dollars, gave it back. Gave some excuse why I can’t accept the money. It’s happened more times in Nigeria, it’s normal there

“David Livingstone discovered the Victoria Falls” they taught us in school ..... so all the thousands of black people who lived, fished etc in the Zambezi River centuries before he arrived conveniently waited for him to arrive before they saw the Falls too?

The number of foreigners and investors eager to invest who have called and emailed today wanting updates, they just want whatever is happening in #Zimbabwe to end so they come and invest. Politicians personal interests aside, most pple here just want jobs + the economy 2 recover

Heard 2 journalists complain today saying ‘why we still being forced to stay here in #Zimbabwe. It’s so small a country, boring and insignificant compared to other places’ Felt like telling them if it were that insignificant why did your boss send you in the first place

My opinion the next election in Zimbabwe, with the opposition fighting the way they are. 2023 Zanu PF is winning … there is no opposition right now There I said it

Zimbabweans complaining about lack of internet access for a day or so, in the #DRC it’s been weeks, people haven’t been on social media in ages, they were angry in the beginning but now realise there is nothing they can do about it until authorities switch it back on

Can I say this🙈 If this was a #Zimbabwe election, with any perceived delay - some western democracies would by now be loudly issuing statements - some calling for more sanctions #Kenya … silence Double standards?
