They did it, my beamish boys! ⚔️🐉 My 3rd and 6th graders have slain the AP Calc BC dragon and just got their 5s!

The mushy middle is where almost every school currently lives, mostly because being explicit means admitting how much assigned work exists only to be graded.

Students need to learn how to use AI, but they also need to learn how to think for themselves. So in schools there should be some kinds of work where students are expected if not required to use AI, and others where it's banned, and no mushy middle ground in between.

A kid who already has a savings account, a debit card, and Steam money is still racing to complete lessons for store points. So much for rewards "killing" motivation — turns out kids sprint when the work is actually worth doing.

My son started GT Anywhere (@gtschool) yesterday, and offshoot of Alpha. After learning that by meeting his daily XP goals he gets points in their online store for students, he is extremely focused on completing lessons on the Timeback platform today. He already has a savings

Thanks to all who attended Saturday's GT School regional quiz bowl event here in Georgetown, TX. Our home team went 9-0 and secured a place at the middle school national championship tournament in May 2026. They're already back at prep this afternoon 🏆
