A few hours ago Super Mario 64 was beaten without pressing the A button RTA for the first time ever by Marbler. It took 86 hours (mostly waiting for the Fire Sea platforms on the Wii VC version to rise high enough to skip the pole). This is an incredible gaming achievement.

I JUST GOT THE FIRST 5:02 IN SMB1 GLITCHLESS HISTORY! 5:02.984! LAST BARRIER FOR THE CATEGORY! This was literally my first attempt of the day. I cannot believe I just clutched this first try after 3 months of grinding and 223 runs to 8-4 after my first 5:03.051 WR. IT'S OVER!!!!!

If you want to get the Super Mario Bros. speedrun world record now, you have to literally tie the tool-assisted speedrun all the way to 8-4. Even though there will always be frames to save in 8-4, the category is essentially dead now, but like for real.

Congratulations @Niftski on breaking the SMB1 Any% record with a 4:54.631!!! Niftski was **23%** with TAS 4-2 this stream, a level of consistency no one is matching for a fair while

New SMB1 Warpless World Record of 18:59.008. Missed 18:58 by one whole frame. I was really happy about this run when I finished it thinking I had gotten the first 18:58, but now that I know the actual time, I could not be more devastated by the result. Thanks lag frames. FML
