@ManningBooks often features my book, Functional Design and Architecture, in various programs, and Iโ€™m very grateful for that. Today, it's Deal Of The Day (50% off), along with other 3 titles: manning.com/dotd Interestingly, FDaA is on the recent bestsellers list! I

I don't do Software Engineering anymore. Nobody does. It's a time when the truths of Software Engineering have been cancelled. The common ground now, pushed by the ever-growing crowd of deniers, is that we no longer need to write good software. That good code has no value. That

I wasted 10 years on C++. Then I wasted 10 years on Haskell. What should I waste my time on next?

Sending messages by 'Enter' is idiotic. You can't change my mind on this. It's one of the most dangerous UI/UX misfeatures that have taken over our tools in the last decade, all in favor of misconceptions about "stupid users" who supposedly need care from patronizing corps.

I want to recommend the book "The Programmer's Brain" by Felienne Hermans @Felienne, which I just finished reading. The book is already well-known without my recommendation. It has received many positive reviews, and Felienne, whom I once had a conversation with, is very

Notice the decline path of Haskell. Proves my long-standing points: 1. There was a chance for Haskell in 2010-2012. 2. In 2010-2014, haskellers were trying to convince the whole world that CATEGORY THEORY IS THE ONLY TRUE FP AGREE OR GTFO. Didn't work. Gave Haskell an

Haskell is not popular. In fact, it's less popular than it was 10 years ago. Fifteen years ago, @unclebobmartin gave a talk titled "What Killed Smalltalk Could Kill Ruby, Too." ๐Ÿ”— youtu.be/YX3iRjKj7C0?siโ€ฆ He argued that the downfall of Smalltalk was caused by the arrogance of

My take on why Functional Programming is not popular: 1. We live in a world where popular becomes more popular. If you didnโ€™t win a coin flip of billions of dollars marketing on 90โ€™s, itโ€™s hard to break out of the niche. 2. Computers were slow back in the day. Compiled

Started reading this book by @DominikTornow : Think Distributed Systems It's in the early MEAP phase, and only 6 chapters (90 pages) are available at the moment. It starts from introducing the very minimum of notions, and doesn't waste words. Instead, the author demonstrates

Today I learned that my ideas and my books have massively influenced @juspay, one of the biggest Haskell and Rust companies in the world. Vimal Kumar, the CEO of Juspay, who was also one of the first supporters of my Functional Design and Architecture book, told me that
