I was only 19 years old when I discovered that -narratives you have in your head affect the way you feel And I deduced - you can make up new ones I made up a few stories about myself that had the same life facts but totally opposite conclusions and realised a super power 😇

I recently gave this advice: get used to embarrassing yourself. In fact make sure you embarrass yourself at least three times a day.

Tips for anxiety and depression 🧵 I've had three distinct rounds of debilitating anxiety in my life, and the focus could be described as "death anxiety". Ages 23-24, ages 26-27 and ages 30-33. Both my parents prone to it. I am now 39 with no new recurrence. Here's my advice.

Ok I just spent a long time reading the comments and not only the number of times it has appeared in different artworks (literally every comment cites a different work of media), but also, people dream about it This might be an archetypal place like The Hill

vladimir lenin had this painting framed above his bed, hitIer bought one of the originals, freud had a print hanging in his study, rachmaninoff composed a musical piece inspired by it, & it influenced salvador dalí. nabokov wrote the painting “could be found in every berlin home”

“A gap on your CV” is this ominous terrifying concept that I suggest you get rid of, memetically, due to it being completely, completely fake. CVs are fake too.

For the past five weeks I have: - quit nicotine - vastly reduced caffeine (2xcups coffee down to one cup tea) - quit little green plant 🌱 - far reduced sugar - upped veg intake And I feel EXACTLY THE SAME 🤣🤣🤣 Nutrition is fake

I used to read 100s of books I loved philosophy, theory and language itself, I would yap all day it was my favourite hobby and when I finally had insight during meditation it all dropped away All of it Now I don’t read, barely want to speak Be warned

I’ve never been able to find my calling, or what I’m “supposed” to do even though I feel a strong sense that there is something. The feeling that I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing is so awful that it’s replaced death anxiety as my most tortured thought form.

Some people get depression from shifting Kegan stage. Kegan noticed his patients were primarily people stuck between stages. They see the flaws of their old way of understanding the world but lost their community support (“holding environment”) before becoming fluent in the next
