A year ago today people from across Bham stood in solidarity with yet another community devastated by a brutal collision. We refuse to accept that this should be a normal part of life in our city. We need sustained action to address our city's road safety emergency.
A group of protesters - some wearing hi-vis- are standing in a road (Soho Rd Handsworth) with placards which read ‘No More Deaths’, ‘B is for Better’, ‘Peace Space Justice’
3 placards are propped up against some railings.

We fully support @RichParkerLab's proposals to franchise in the West Midlands as well as improving reliability through bus priority measures. Read our consultation response:

Our streets are evolving and it's not just in a couple of wards. Removing through-traffic from local streets is one important part of addressing the road safety emergency.

We've flagged the dangers with Cheapside since 2016, it's a miracle no one’s been killed. The wait has been long, but these @bcc_help road layout changes mean 2025 should bring a safer junction and fewer crashes. These dangers can be engineered out - we just need the will…
