It turns out politics is about conflicting class interests. More as we get it.

Just grassing on an exhausted delivery driver as I order medical supplies for my horse. Class society is alive and well in 2021.

The British press is up in arms that Waitrose lorry drivers now earn enough to shop at Waitrose.

British workers used to work six full days, then they won the ‘English Saturday’ half day (why football matches kick off at 3pm) before a full day off became standard for a two day weekend. The four day week is the next logical step for social progress and dignity.

A dozen Labour MPs have signed an amendment calling for a 4-day-week. Less work, same pay, huge costs for everyone else. But who is pushing these policies of the workshy? Let’s dive into the whacky world of 4-day work and unmask who's behind it... 👇🧵

Half a million people signing up to a call for a new left-wing party in Britain is actually very significant and without parallel in living memory.

Renewable energy is now so abundant and so cheap that it’s bad for business. This is a great case for treating electricity as a publicly utility instead of a commodity.

It’s Crazy Sunday! This afternoon, #Europe will experience negative electricity prices from #Finland to #Lithuania, #Poland, and #France. Meanwhile, #Germany will see zero or negative wholesale #power prices for most of the day due to massive #wind and #solar production. Germany

The British right is redefining ‘working class’ to include landowning farmers and business owners whilst denigrating unionised public sector workers as ‘parasites’.

Male life expectancy in Glasgow is also 73, meaning if the pension age were to rise to 74 that the average Glaswegian man wouldn't even claim a state pension. There's massive class injustices in these proposals, including the forms of work we'd be asking folk to do in their 70s.

State pension age could rise to 74. Male life expectancy in areas such as Blackpool is 73 years. Something needs to change.

I don’t think the Labour Party’s homelessness minister should be a landlord in the first place.

‘Capitalism is just the default mode of economics’ is some powerful ideology.

Calling capitalism an “ideology” is kind of ridiculous. “Millions were killed by capitalism” is a ridiculous thing to say. Capitalism is just the default mode of economics. “I made this item and I will sell it for something else” has been going on since ancient times.

A large portion of people in Britain think that they should be able to pass on huge unearned wealth accrued through surging property prices without paying any tax on it. It's a massive problem for a society where property ownership has become the defining feature of wealth.
